SANY "No.1 Crane in China" Transported to Chile's Miner Rescue Scene

L.T.Oct.6^th, Chile, SANY crawler crane in red which researched and developed independently had been sent disassembled to the mining site by 6 trucks in team, enjoying cheer and constant applause under the sun in the desert and ready for the ultimate rescue upon 33 trapped miners. Families of trapped miners who had waited for 2 months were singing a song named come on! Miners which made by miners themselves with Chile flag and Madonna in hand to pray for peace.

Aug 5^th, 2010, 33 miners were trapped in the 700-meter-depth underground of San Jose Mine, Chuquicamata copper which was located in the Atacama Desert in Northeast China. SCC4000 crawler crane, which manufactured by SANY Science & Technology Co.,Ltd, was chosen by Chile government as a candidate of lifting the rescue mental tubes.

Hao Heng, service manager from SANY Chile Subsidiary, attended this rescue as a service engineer in charge of the hoisting work in the rescue. Hao Heng said, "The SCC4000 Crawler crane which carrying out the listing tasks is of superior performance, and has attained its good reputation as ' The No.1 crane in China'. It also won Golden Award at Shanghai fair of science and technology, and certain parts like electronic control,  hydraulic system and others reached advanced level in the world."

SCC4000 was chosen as a candidate among other international competitors for rescuing miners by Chile government showed their trust in China's heavy industry. When Hao Heng, the only Asian in the rescue team, and other Sany technicians arrived at the spot, they had preliminarily chosen two locations to hoist after careful reconnaissance and calculations.

"The major difficulty is that whether the 'Rescuing Capsule' i.e. the compartment for rescuing can smoothly get down through the knee which is located 100 meters underneath the mine shaft, concerning the colossal friction between the 'Capsule' and internal wall of the mine shaft which is produced during the lifting of the 'Capsule'. Meanwhile, the deadweight of the crane of over 330 tons also brings about huge pressure for the internal wall of the shaft." Hao Heng said to the reporter. If gravels and other attachments in internal wall fell off due to said huge pressure, 'Rescuing Capsule' would probably stuck that finally resulted in rescue suspension or even shut down.

Mr. Hao said, “As normal, the crawler crane may be fully prepared for the rescue in 2 or 3 days.” He, proud of being able to join the rescue, knew his great responsibility.
