Trimble introduced two new construction lasers Tuesday, announcing the Spectra Precision GL612 single and GL622 dual grade lasers at the Intergeo 2012 conference. Both are rugged, automatic self-leveling lasers featuring grade capability of ± 25 percent and can be used in a wide variety of grading, excavating and alignment applications by general and specialty contractors.
The GL612 and GL622 self-level in the vertical position for a wide range of applications, including anchor bolt alignment, concrete tilt-up and curtain wall plumbing. Both units incorporate automatic temperature and grade compensation for high accuracy in any weather or geographical location. The lasers are built to withstand the rigors of the construction jobsite and can survive a drop of up to 3 feet on concrete. And with an IP67 rating, the grade lasers are protected against water and dust.
The GL612 and GL622 include the RC602 radio remote control. The remote has a back-lit graphic display and gives the operator full control of the lasers from up to 330 feet away. Each laser also includes the HL750 Laserometer that wirelessly transmits a digital readout of elevation and can be used at an operating diameter of up to 2,600 feet. The HL750 Laserometer and the transmitters provide automatic grade matching which allows measurement of unknown grade values between two points.
For applications that require maximum stability and accuracy, the optional PlaneLok feature is available in both the horizontal and vertical planes and automatically locks the beam on the receiver and keeps it on grade. This reduces typical environmental factors that may induce an error. In addition, multiple HL750 Laserometers can be set up across a site and can communicate with one another for long-range wireless remote display and monitoring.
The Spectra Precision GL612 and GL622 are available now through the Spectra Precision Dealer Network.
