SANY's Lingang Industrial Park to Become World's Largest Excavator Manufacturing Site

5.2 billion RMB, a total of 1 million square meters, 550,000 square meters of manufacturing space and completed in just 378 days -- this is how Sany built a world-class industrial park in Lingang, Shanghai.

“Welcome to Shanghai. You are all new citizens of Shanghai,” Yu Zhengsheng, member of the Political Bureau and CPC Secretary of Shanghai, told a crowd of 3000 Sany employees at the inaugural ceremony for the new site on February 27th.

Secretary Yu also toured the industrial park with Sany Heavy Industry Chairman Liang Wengen and company President Xiang Wenbo. The facility features a comfortable working environment with grass, flowers, fountains, and palm trees alongside the production lines.

The Lingang Industrial Park mainly will build 20- to 30-ton excavators, and automated management systems inside the assembly areas will oversee manufacturing lines capable of producing one machine every five minutes. This is also the world's largest production base for excavators.

In the future, the Sany Shanghai Industrial Center will become the company’s second headquarters. The Lingang facility is the first stage of this larger project, where the Sany will eventually expand manufacturing to include precision machine tools and other high-end equipment.
