 ■Sany Heavy Industry listed in FT Global 500

Sany Heavy Industry entered into FT Global 500 as the 431st with the market capitalization of $21.584 billion. It is the only Chinese machinery enterprise chosen in the list.

 

■Sany wins National Science and Technology Progress Prize

On Jan 14^th, Sany Heavy Industry’s project “engineering machinery technology and innovation platform development” won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award on National Science and Technology Awards Conference. The “corporation technology innovation project” is the only evaluation project on the conference that focuses on corporation. Among the award winners, Sany Heavy Industry is the only engineering machinery enterprise. The award is the highest national honor given to Chinese engineering machinery industry. In addition, Sany was awarded the golden prizes in patent and product appearance on Nov 8th.

 

■62m concrete pump truck sent for Fukushima nuclear power plant rescue

In March, 2011, a 9.0-magnitude earthquake hit off the east coast of Japan. The subsequent nuclear crisis at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi power plant drew the concern of the world. Sany promptly decided to donate a 62m truck-mounted concrete pump worth 1 million US dollars to help tackle the nuclear crisis in Japan. In the meantime, Sany also sent 3 professional engineers to Japan for on-site support. At Fukushima power plant, Sany’s pump truck kept injecting sea water to cool down the overheated reactors continuously, and had effectively prevented the crisis from worsening. Sany’s action impressed people all over the world and the pump truck is nicknamed as “big giraffe” by Japanese people.

 

■Liang Wengen ranks the first in China’s rich list

On Sep 9^th, the Asia edition of Forbes released the 2011 China rich list, among which Sany Heavy Industry’s chairman Liang Wengen ranked the first with a personal fortune of 9.3 billion dollars. In addition, Liang Wengen was also listed as the richest man in China in the 2011 Hurun Rich List, which was released two days earlier.

In the Forbes 2011 China’s rich list, there are another six persons from Sany Group ranking among the 400 richest men in China. Sany Group thus has become the company with the most people on the list and is credited as “fortune manufacturer”.

 

■Eight categories of Sany products rank the first in customer satisfaction survey of construction machinery industry in 2011

 On Sep 24^th, the press conference of 2011 customer satisfaction survey of construction machinery industry was held in the Great Hall of the People. Among the 14 surveyed construction machinery products, Sany’s eight categories of products ranked the first among the domestic self-owned brands, namely, concrete pump truck, stationary concrete pump, line pump, batching plant, paver, crawler crane, excavator and rotary drilling rig. In addition, another four categories of Sany products rank the second, namely, truck-mixer, truck crane, roller and grader. The customer survey is the most complete and authoritative one in the construction machinery industry. 

 

■The annual sales volume of Sany excavator tops the domestic industry

The annual sales volume of Sany excavator is estimated more than 20,000 in 2011. The number surpasses that of Komatsu and consolidates its leading position in domestic excavating industry. Since June 2011, Sany has maintained the highest monthly sales volume of the industry for seven consecutive months.

 

■Sany awarded National Model Enterprise of Harmonious Labor Relation

On August 15^th 2011, Sany Group was awarded National Model Enterprise of Harmonious Labor Relation on the awarding ceremony of National Model Enterprises and Industrial Parks of Harmonious Labor Relation. The award is government recognition of Sany’s sharing and win-win relation with its employees. Sany has also been honored as 2011 Best Employer of College Graduates (the fourth time in row), 2011 Best Company to Work for in China and New Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demonstration Base.

 

■Sany signs the project contract of its industrial park in Indonesia

On April 30^th 2011, Premier Wen Jiabao of China, who was on an official visit to Indonesia to attend the “China-Indonesia Strategic Business Dialogue”, and Vice President Boediono of Indonesia witnessed the signing of an investment agreement between Sany Heavy Industry of China and the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia. According to the agreement, Sany will invest 200 million US dollars in Karawang (in the western part of Java) to build Sany’s Indonesian Industrial Park. Sany Heavy Industry has become the first Chinese company to make a large scale investment in Indonesia in the manufacturing sector.

 

■Sany’s 86m concrete pump truck wins Guinness World Record

On September 19^th 2011, the 86m concrete pump truck independently developed by Sany Heavy Industry rolled off the production line, refreshing the Guinness World Record it created in 2009 with its 72m concrete pump truck as the one with the longest boom in the world. It signifies that Sany Heavy Industry has grasped the world’s most advanced technology of concrete pump truck and has stood at the forefront of its design and manufacturing.

 

■The World’s No. 1 Crawler Crane rolled off production line

On May 29th 2011, unveiling ceremony of the world’s No. 1 crawler crane SCC86000TM was held in Sany Kunshan Industrial Park. With over 86000 t m maximal lifting moment and over 3600 ton maximal lifting capacity, it is the world’s largest and most advanced crawler crane.
