Cummins opens new generator manufacturing facility

Cummins Generator Technologies has announced the opening of a new purpose-built production facility dedicated to the manufacture and assembly of its Stamford P80 alternator range.

As a result of the multi-million dollar investment in the Stamford, U.K. site, Cummins Generator Technologies said it will be able to meet increased demand for the range of alternators at reduced lead times and will also offer the latest advanced manufacturing and test facilities. The new facility incorporates a purpose-built flow line, engineered material flow and fully integrated painting and test facilities.

The Stamford P80 alternator is a range of four-pole, single and two bearing automatic voltage regulator controlled alternators that spans 2000 to 5000kVA in low, medium and high voltages (up to 690V, 4160V and 13,800V, respectively). They are built to meet the specific requirements of prime power, standby and critical protection environments, the company said. (Source: Diesel Progress Online)
