SAKAI America’s 700 Series vibratory (HF) and nutating (ND) asphalt tandem rollers increase paving productivity by achieving density with high amplitudes, or nutation mode while leaving smooth finishes on HMA surfaces.
The 700 Series comes in two models, the SW770HF and SW770ND. The SW770HF offers a three frequency settings up to 4,000 vpm, and two amplitude settings, low to high .013 to .026 inches, while the SW770ND offers a three frequency settings up to 3,000 vpm, and two amplitude settings, or nutation mode. Both models offer a drum width of 67 inches and are ideally suited for a wide variety of HMA projects including municipal streets, state highways, airport runways and large parking lots.
The 700 Series is powered by a turbocharged Isuzu 4JJ1XDIA Tier III fuel efficient diesel engine that delivers 127 hp. Sakai’s fuel saver mode allows the operator to manually or automatically set the engine RPM depending on the application, while maintaining all of the vibration, or nutation characteristics necessary for compaction and smoothness on the project. Sakai has also designed the 700 Series with a forward engine design and remote drains making for easy engine serviceability. Mechanics can make quick oil and other fluid changes from the ground, which reduces roller downtime.
