On March 8th, Beijing SANY Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd celebrated the successful launch of Asian first largest SR360 full hydraulic rotary drilling rig, together with the batch production of SR-series rock rotary drilling rig. SR 360 full hydraulic rotary drilling rig, whose successful launch provides an important guarantee for Chinese pile driving machinery to assist the national infrastructure construction, reduces the construction and operating cost, and gives the far-reaching significance in Chinese pile driving machinery manufacturing, even the whole equipment manufacturing in China.

The successful launch of SR360 rotary drilling rig demonstrates that SANY group Co., Ltd has become a world-class rotary drilling rig manufacturer and made a leap in its serialization. Thence, China needn't depend on other countries to import rotary drilling rig with large torque.

When explaining its R&D process, Li Zhongyin, general manager of Beijing SANY Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd, said that at the beginning of 2007, they had began to develop SR360 rotary drilling rig, collecting a mass of construction and geological exploration data, adopting many innovative technology designs, and consulting finite element analysis and optimization structure, so the overall stability and reliability were greatly enhanced. At present, SR360 rotary drilling rig possesses of excellent performance and automatization. Overall performance has reached the international counterparts standards with partial technology even surpassing them.

He also indicated that among the problems in R&D, the main one was to guarantee the flexibility of construction equipment and high torque output. Difficulties were increasing after the depth up to over 90m. Beijing SANY Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd insisted to solve the construction problems step by step according to the construction method. Presently, SR 360 rotary drilling rig with 2.5m maximum drilling diameter can reach 92m maximum drilling depth and 360KN•m maximum output torque.

The batch production of SR-series rock rotary drilling rig

The first batch production of SANY SR-series rock rotary drilling rig symbolized that SANY Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd had began to cosmically enter the rock rotary drilling rig construction areas.

In August, 2007, Beijing SANY Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd had tested the construction status of SR220R rock rotary drilling rig in Beijing Zhoukoudian. In October, it had been applied in Changchun to build Harbin-Dalian railway, praised highly by project department of China Communication Group because of its high efficiency and drill hole quality.

Following SR220R rock rotary drilling rig, SR250R rock rotary drilling rig, large-scale one, developed by Beijing SANY Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd according to the market needs, can be mainly applied in pile foundation construction in bedrock with large aperture, deep drill hole, rock hardness below 100MPa and drill ability less than 8 grades. Equipped with QSL9-C325 Cummins engine with higher power, it can supply 260KN•m output torque with 2.5m maximum drilling diameter. During drilling, the overall stability can be greatly improved because of the augmentation of its chassis, the pedrail length, the width of board of pedrail, and overall weight. 

The successful R&D of SR-series rock rotary drilling rig means an important breakthrough of worldwide problem—rotary drilling rig rock drilling.
