On October 20th, Sany Heavy Machinery rolled out China's first hybrid excavator SY215C, which is highly efficient, energy-saving and environment-friendly.
In the face of global energy shortage and environmental pollution, Sany continually seeks technological breakthroughs and develops more energy-saving and environment friendly products. Hybrid power technology is one of the globally acknowledged solutions to energy saving, taking two or more accumulators or energy converters as the power supply. Compared with conventional excavators, hybrid excavators are able to store the kinetic energy from braking slewing motion and the potential energy from declining of working devices. The optimized engine workspace keeps the power supply constant within the economic space when the excavator is working. The study on the hybrid excavator has been done by foreign excavator manufacturers for quite some time, yet in China the study is still in its infancy.
After nearly a year's hard work in technology research, Sany Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. successfully rolled out the first hybrid excavator. This brand new product consists of hybrid power, optimal control of engine power, electronically controlled positive flow system, lightweight device and other energy-saving technologies, effectively reducing energy consumption and recycling energy. This new product works smoothly and safely, saving energy by 30% and enhancing efficiency by 25% compared with conventional excavators.
Sany Heavy Machinery is the first in China to transplant hybrid power onto construction machinery manufacturing for energy-saving purposes. This trail-blazing act has provided the design theories, methods and experimental platform for the development of a new generation of energy efficient excavating machinery in China. The product made its debut appearance on 3rd November 2009 in the Beijing BICES Exhibition.
