Sany 86m Concrete Pump Truck Successfully Rolled off the Production Line

Sep 19th, 2011, SANY Industrial Town, Hunan province, China - The 86m concrete pump truck independently developed by Sany Heavy Industry rolled off the production line at the biggest all-digital workshop for general assembly of construction machinery in the world, refreshing the world record of 72m boom length it set in 2009. This signifies that Sany Heavy Industry has grasped the world’s most advanced technology for concrete pump truck manufacture, leading the technology development of the industry at the frontier of concrete pump truck designing and manufacturing. Government officials including Mr. Yu Laishan, Standing Committee Member of Hunan Provincial CPC and Executive Governor of Hunan Province, and Mr. Chen Run'er, Standing Committee Member of Hunan Provincial CPC and Party Committee Secretary of Changsha together with industrial association experts attended the ceremony. Over 400 customer representatives of Sany Heavy Industry as well as reporters from mass media witnessed this historic moment.

 "A leap of 14 meters" in two years

In 2007, SANY's 66m concrete pump truck created the first Guinness World Record in construction machinery industry as the concrete pump truck with the longest boom in the world. Two years later, this record was refreshed by SANY's 72m concrete pump truck. When it was awarded the Guinness World Record as the concrete pump truck with the longest boom and largest concrete delivery volume in the world, the Executive President Yi Xiaogang of Sany Heavy Industry asserted, "The concrete pump truck with the world's longest boom will always come from SANY!"

Again, Yi Xiaogang kept his promise. On Sep 19th in the just completed world's largest construction machinery assembly workshop with the most advanced equipment, Sany Heavy Industry's self-developed 86m concrete pump truck successfully rolled off the production line, refreshing the world record again. SANY realized leapfrog development from 72m to 86m within only two years, creating three world records - the longest boom, the most boom sections  and the largest hourly concrete delivery volume.

At 3:50 p.m., the journalists walked into the 12000m2 all-digital assembly workshop from the middle door on the west side of No. 18 Workshop. Standing in the grand central hall, their attention was attracted by the enormous machine covered by red silk cloth. At 16:48p.m., witnessed by all the leaders and honored guests, the world’s longest boom concrete pump truck, which has a 9-axle and 7-section boom, was unveiled.

As is introduced, the 86m concrete pump truck has the world's first 7-section boom, so it is more flexible compared with 5 or 6-section booms and applicable in wider ranges. Meanwhile, in order to tackle the problem that the high strength steel features big deformation and low impact ductility, SANY independently developed 1200MPa  high strength steel with innovative heat treating technology, thus to improve the products' competitiveness. In addition, 86m concrete pump truck refreshed another world record by increasing the delivery volume of concrete pump truck from 230 m3/h to 240 m³/h.

It is worth noting that in order to break the monopoly of imported chassis on long-boom concrete pump truck market, Sany's R&D team for 86m concrete pump truck developed the 9-axle all-terrain chassis with independent intellectual property right , which enhances technical independency of the industry.

Tang Xiuguo, the President of SANY Group, told the reporters that the advancement from 72M to 86M is not merely an increase of 14 meters, but also a leap in technology and core competitiveness. 86m concrete pump truck is a comprehensive demonstration of Sany Heavy Industry's experience of over ten years in designing and manufacturing concrete pump truck. Sany has applied for more than 180 national patents for it and 36 of them have been approved. Moreover, 86m concrete pump truck not only achieved breakthroughs in the length of boom and pumping delivery volume, but also integrated several intelligent control technologies and 100% self-made key parts. "The birth of 86m concrete pump truck is the symbol of SANY's audacious innovation, which indicates that the designing and manufacturing technology of concrete pump truck has reached another milestone".

As one of the renowned large construction engineer manufacturing corporations in Hunan, , SANY has tackled one after another foreign monopoly problem through independent innovation during these years and has become a world-class enterprise, Yu Laishan said on the roll-off ceremony. He also expressed that the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial government will continue to put more efforts in supporting construction machinery enterprises such as SANY. Better business environment will be created so as to promote the technology advancement and independent innovation of the construction machinery industry in Hunan, to establish the province as the powerhouse of world construction machinery industry and to contribute to the development of Hunan province.

A new mission for the leader

After more than ten years of hard work, SANY has extended the boom length from 37m to 86m by constantly surpassing itself. This has brought a revolution and overall progress to construction machinery industry in China. Academician Tan Jianrong from Chinese Academy of Engineering speaks highly of SANY, "SANY is leading not only the technological development of concrete pump trucks, but also the development of innovation in the whole equipment manufacture industry in China."

Mr. Liang Wengen, Chairman of Sany Heavy Industry, made a speech at the ceremony. He said that China's technology of concrete pump trucks was under the control of foreign brands when SANY Group entered into construction machinery industry in 1994, for which Chinese customers had to afford several times of the high cost to import booms, and Chinese enterprises could not participate in global competition. Through independent research and development full of hardship and challenges, SANY finally grasped the core technology and broke the monopoly of foreign brands. Later on, it joined 56m+ concrete pump truck market monopolized by only a few enterprises such as Purzmeister and Schwing. The coming out of 66m, 72m and 86m concrete pump truck today has made it a "leader" instead of a "follower" at the forefront of the world's concrete pump truck manufacture industry.

In the past decade, SANY has established itself as the largest concrete machinery manufacturer in the world, not only leading the technological development of the whole industry, but also winning the markets that used to be taken by international giants, Mr. Wang Jinxing, Deputy Secretary General of China Construction Machinery Association, told the reporters. According to him, all the advance technologies of the 86m concrete pump truck can be applied on the whole series of SANY concrete pump trucks, which is why SANY is taking the lead in global concrete equipment industry. He hopes that the world records of SANY can be closely tied up with factors of scientific progress, increase of national strength and conceptual innovation so as to create more and more admirable world records.
