Following its 2013 re-entry into the United States market, Kobelco Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. said it will build a hydraulic excavator factory in South Carolina. The facility will be in Spartanburg County with site preparation starting in April and production of a 20 ton model planned beginning in January 2016.
The site will cover approximately 85 acres with annual production capacity of 1800 units. Kobelco said it plans to increase the model range and production in accordance with market development. Kobelco has 52 dealer agreements in North America and 10 in South America. (Source: Diesel Progress Online)
