Tianjin, China – After a construction period of one and a half years, BAUER Tianjin Technologies Co. Ltd. moved into the new plant in October 2013. Chinese subsidiary of the BAUER Maschinen GmbH, which is based in Schrobenhausen in Bavaria, Germany, has been assembling equipment for special foundation engineering for distribution in Asia since 1995. Bauer is the world market leader in this field.
The relocation was necessary due to the fact that the lease contracts for the previous facilities had expired. The new facilities offer enough space for the coming years: The entire area covers 65,814 square meters. Production facilities with the offices take up 30,717 square meters. At present, just over 220 employees work there with the capacity to produce up to 90 machines a year.
The new factory premises in the Xi Qing district in Tianjin were inaugurated with several events between October 16 and 18. One day before the official inauguration, the annual customer conference took place on the new premises. About 320 clients from the whole of China visited the conference which gave them the exclusive opportunity to see the new production facilities. New products and methods were shown to the guests and business partners in diverse presentations in the festively decorated production hall.
The facilities were officially opened with a traditional Chinese ceremony on October 17. The most important part of such events is the colorful Lion Dance. It is meant to bring luck, health and success.
Prof. Thomas Bauer, Chairman of the Management Board of BAUER AG, outlined in his speech the development of Bauer in China on the whole, and in particular in Tianjin, since the early beginnings back in 1991 to the completion of the new production facilities. In a ceremonial act, a BG 26 rotary drilling rig was handed over to the client, and the sales contract for one other drilling rig was signed.
On the third day of the ceremonies, the focus lay on the in-house exhibition. About 500 clients and a number of prospects visited the premises over the three days, to take a look at the newest developments from the BAUER Group. Among the exhibited equipment were the BG ValueLine series and a RB-T 90, the device specifically designed for rescuing mine workers from collapsed mines. Organized guided tours of the exhibition and the premises left no questions unanswered. The Service Center was also introduced: It demonstrated on a used rig which steps need to be taken to get it up and running again.
