Mr. Xiang Wenbo Attends China-Germany Dialogue Forum

From July 7, 2011 to July 9, 2011, Mr. Xiang Wenbo, President of Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. attended the second session of the second China-Germany Dialogue Forum in Berlin, Germany upon invitation. Nearly 30 representatives from various fields of politics, enterprises, media and culture exchanged their opinions on bilateral market access matters, low-carbon economy, electric vehicles, social security systems and media communications between the two countries.

At the Forum, Mr. Xiang Wenbo released the good news that Sany Heavy Industry had been listed in 2011 Financial Times Global 500 and expressed his ideas on issues concerning bilateral market access.

Mr. Xiang Wenbo said that Germany is China’s largest trade partner in Europe and also that of Sany’s. In 2010, Sany spent 200 million Euros on importing spare parts from Germany, accounting for nearly 30% of Sany Group’s total purchasing volume. He believes that China has opened wider and deeper to German enterprises but we only see limited investment scales and determination on the part of German enterprises. The total investment volume in China is only 17 billion USD from over 7,000 German enterprises, while among Chinese enterprises, Sany by its own has invested over 100 million Euros in Germany. Mr. Xiang Wenbo expressed that the market rules shall be made in full considerations of both parties’ situations and upon fair and mutual benefit principle.

Mr. Wu Hongbo, Chinese ambassador in Germany and Mr. Shi Mingxian, German ambassador in China attended the forum. They agreed that members of both parties shall continue to communicate with each other frankly to develop China-German relations and enhance cooperation on this platform.

According to report, on July17, 2010, Mr. Xiang Wenbo attended the symposium of Chinese and German enterprisers at the second China-Germany Dialogue Forum in Xi’an, China upon invitation and was received by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and German Prime Minister Angela Merkel. At this symposium, as a representative of Chinese enterprisers, Mr. Xiang Wenbo expressed his ideas on matters such as obtaining visa for Germany, low-carbon economy and so on. (Zhang Lin)
