President Xi Jinping and Dilma Rousseff Witness Contract Signing of SANY's Investment Project in Brazil

On 17th July Chinese president Xi Jinping and his Brazilian counterpart President Dilma Rousseff both bore witness to the signing of contract for SANY’s investment project in Brazil. They also attended the signing ceremony of SANY’s Brazil investment memorandum. The contract is co-signed by Liang Wengen, Chairman of SANY Heavy Industry and Hamilton Motta Ribeiro, mayor of Jacarie, Sao Paulo.

It’s said that SANY Heavy Industry plans to invest 300 million US dollars in Brazil to build factories in Jacarie, San Paulo as well as carry out the research and development, manufacture and sales of construction machinery and equipment. At present, the first-stage project of new factory construction in Jacarie has been basically completed and will be put into operation in 2015. With further enlargement of SANY factories in Brazil, by 2020 when these factories go into full production, SANY Brazil will create almost 1000 jobs.

In recent years, according to the demands of Brazilian market, SANY has developed many products which better adapt to local construction situation. These products were widely used in the construction of stadiums for World Cup Brazil and Olympic games, especially for the building of 2014 World Cup Stadiums. SANY worked on 8 out of a total of 10 stadiums and successfully completed the assignment. In addition, sales volume of SANY automobile crane ranked first in Brazil market for two consecutive years. In future, with the advent of infrastructure construction heat, SANY will enjoy a brighter and more promising market in Brazil.

President Xi emphasized that the official visit to Brazil is to consolidate cooperation, promote development and strengthen confidence. The talks between President Xi and President Rousseff were in-depth and fruitful. Agreements were reached in many aspects. A series of documents were signed by two sides including SANY’s investment project in Brazil. All these achievements will not only contribute to the closer relations between Brazil and China, promote development of both countries, but also strengthen our faith to the future development of China-Brazil comprehensive strategic partnership.

President Rousseff also said a series of consensus and agreements reached by both sides during President Xi’s visit have laid a solid foundation for the long-term cooperation between two countries, and also promised a bright future for bilateral relations. Brazil is willing to work with China and make active efforts in building a peaceful, democratic and tolerant world. She also highlighted in her speech that Brazilian government would give strong backing to SANY’s investment project in Brazil and said this project is a good example for cooperation between industries in both countries.
