“I have come to you too late. But I will come back as often as possible,” said Rafiq Mikhail, GM of Instant Access, SANY’s dealer in Kuwait, when he toured “the biggest garden-style digitalized workshop in Asia” – the No. 18 Workshop in SANY’s Changsha Industrial Park.
Rafiq was deeply impressed by this workshop. “SANY has the most advanced and highest standard production lines. The extremely clean and tidy eco-friendly campus is refreshing for the mind. This feeling of being in a garden has made me forget my fatigue after a long distance flight.”
Rafiq has over 30 years of utilization, management, and sales experiences of construction equipment. He has visited almost all benchmark companies in the industry and witnessed the evolution of all technologies and production lines for construction machinery. As the GM of Instant Access, the equipment he manages are over 6,300 units and he is an extremely sensitive business insider.
He was the first from Kuwait to realize that SANY was to become a bright star in future. He recommended SANY to the chairman of his company and many friends inside the industry in as early as 2006 and he still kept these emails.
Mohamed, senior sales manager of the company, was travelling with Rafiq. He visited SANY many times before 2006 and is an old friend of SANY. He is visiting SANY after 8 years. He said, “SANY’s rapid development is amazing but quite within my expectation. I am lucky to contribute to its development in future.”
Rafiq and Mohamed also visited the campus of SANY Mobile Cranes and held a meeting with Dan Zhu, GM of Sales Company of SANY Mobile Cranes. Dan Zhu thanked the guests for their contribution to SANY’s growing presence in Kuwait and encouraged them to achieve more.
Talking about the impact on the construction machinery industry by the global economic slowdown, Dan Zhu believed that the most difficult period has gone and SANY would overcome difficulties hand in hand with Instant Access. “SANY pays more attention to long term goals. Temporary setbacks will only make us stronger, hungrier, and more thorough in cooperation.” Rafiq and Mohamed thanked SANY for its support and understanding and promised they would meet targets even in difficult times.
What is noteworthy is that cranes are one of the most popular products in Kuwait. In 2013, over 40 units of truck cranes and rough-terrain cranes were sold in Kuwait, pushing SANY’s market share in the country for cranes to over 60%. Most key customers in Kuwait are using SANY’s cranes.
At the beginning of 2014, there was a change of senior management team for Instant Access and the Kuwait subsidiary of SANY’s Middle Eastern Regional Office was affected. Through the efforts of Rafiq and Xiaolin Chen, SANY’s Chief Representative in Kuwait, work in sales, services, and brand-building was sustained. Currently SANY Kuwait is negotiating orders worth 10 million USD.
Xiaolin said that SANY Kuwait is expected to complete the sales target for 2014 two months ahead of schedule and would be able to contribute 10 million yuan in profits to SANY, just like 2013.
Reportedly, the Kuwait Government has completed the soliciting of bidding for a series of projects, covering areas such as oil, clean energy, housing, and transportation, which would be kicked off starting from the end of 2014. Through two years of following-up work, SANY Kuwait has built very good relationships with the contractors, who will pay visits to SANY starting from Bauma 2014 in Shanghai.
