Ritchie Bros. auctioneers has appointed Terry Dolan as president, U.S. and South America, with full P&L responsibility. He will be based in Chicago, and report directly to chief executive Ravi Saligram.
Dolan joins Ritchie after more than nine years with generator and power products company Generac, where for the past four years he has been executive vice president- global commercial and industrial Products. Before that he was senior vice president sales at the Power Systems division. He also led the integration of two major acquisitions to expand Generac internationally. Since 2009 he has also been president of Wingspan Performance Advisors a consulting business.
Prior to Generac he was senior vice president business development at Boart Longyear, the drilling equipment manufacturer, and before that spent five years with Ingersoll Rand as vice president, company owned stores and remarketing, and vice president of sales and marketing. He moved to Ingersoll Rand after his first spell at Generac where he was director of business development for a year.
He began his career in 1988 as a sales representative with Binder Equipment selling construction equipment, after three years he joined Case where he held various sales and marketing roles over a 10 year period. While at Case he started the company’s used equipment business and developed his first contacts with Ritchie Bros.
