On Sep. 4th, the second joint venture of SANY and PALFINGER— the Palfinger-Sany International Sales Company of Cranes was established in Salzburg, Austria. Meanwhile, 50 SANY cranes were sold to the Russian market and won the local customers’ recognition.
Michael Gruboeck, GM of Palfinger-Sany, expressed that the joint venture will sell SANY wheeled cranes through the global sales network of PALFINGER and each side will hold 50% of the shares. “The establishment of Palfinger-Sany will greatly accelerate the expansion of international market for both parties. In addition, the two parties have complementary strengths and their cooperation will help to supply customers with better products and service.”
When it came to the future development of the joint venture, Michael Gruboeck had a well-thought-out plan, “We will open the local market by localized products. Our products definitely meet the requirements of local customers.” Just in August, 50 SANY cranes had been sold to the Russian market, which were very popular among local customers.
Qi Jian, Chairman of Palfinger-Sany, said that the main problem to enter into the European and Russian market faced by them is the localization of our products. Firstly, they should meet the certification standard of local laws and regulations. In Europe, truck cranes should pass the certification of CE and TUEV and in Russia the certification of GOST. “SANY cranes, which are sold to the Russian market, have obtained the certification of GOST. And the certification work of the other markets is about to be completed.”
“We should attribute the successful certification to the accurate positioning of Palfinger-Sany products,” said Qi Jian. The leaders of Palfinger-Sany, together with other staff, visited their customers first and then developed and manufactured the products by strict compliance with customers’ requirements and local laws and regulations.
In addition, the establishment of the joint venture also drew close attention of the Chinese government. On Apr. 10th of this year, Shi Mingde, former ambassador of Austria and the incumbent ambassador of Germany, visited the HQ of Palfinger Group. After 80 years’ development, Palfinger has become the international leading manufacturer of the hydraulic lifting, handling and transferring system for commercial vehicles.
Having had an in-depth knowledge of the products and business condition of Palfinger,Shi Mingde indicated that, the close cooperation of strong enterprises of China and Austria will definitely have a very promising future by complementing each other’s advantages.
