Rio de Janeiro is the host city for the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games. Recently reporter has got to know from the Olympic project administration authorities that on the sites of the projects, of the 23 units of earth-moving equipment, 6 excavators and 7 rollers bear the SANY label.
In fact, far more SANY machines have been serving at the construction sites of the Brazilian World Cup and Olympic Games projects. In the construction of the E Maracana Stadium, a multitude of SANY’s products, including excavators, rollers, mobile cranes, and concrete pumping machinery, has been used. As one of the venues for the World Cup, the Maracana Stadium would have a capacity of 78,000 people upon completion. The contractors have set rigorous rules, demanding that concrete pumping must last for no less than 12 hours in one go. SANY’s 32-meter and 43-meter pump trucks have withstood the test of the enormity of the task and have won wide acclaim from the contractors.
In the renovation of both the National Stadium in Brasilia for the World Cup and the Arena Pantanal in the city of Cuiaba in the country’s west, SANY’s mobile cranes have been the preferred equipment and praised by all. An officer from the rental company who owns the SANY cranes told the reporter that thanks to the quality of the products and the services of SANY, SANY’s cranes have been able to carry out the lifting work of the roof of the stadium, which formed a core part of the project. SANY’s cranes have maintained the number one place for two years in a row in market share.
In the renovation project of the ádio Plácido Aderaldo Castelo in the northeastern city of Fortaleza, SANY’s excavators have been highly praised by the contractor, who told the reporter, “With zero down time after working for 500 hours doing the foundation work, the stability of SANY’s excavators have amazed our engineers.”
The 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympics are regarded as the dual engines of the Brazilian economy, with the Brazilian government putting in over 15 billion USD from the public coffer for building the stadiums and venues. The two events have brought about unprecedented opportunities for the construction machinery industry in this great country. Besides, Brazil is a country rich in resources and with a total area of over 85 million square kilometers, and a population of nearly 200 million, there is a huge potential demand for infrastructure construction.
