RMB10 Million Awarded to Heroes in Earthquake Relief

Flowers and applause are given to the heroes with moved feelings and great admiration from the bottom of the hearts. On November 5, SANY Group held an evening party to commend heroes in the earthquake relief. "SANY Group's Earthquake Relief Team" fighting courageously and regardless of danger at the rescue front line in Sichuan Wenchuan earthquake was commended at the meeting. "RMB10 million as prize is not a small sum, but it seems insignificant compared with the fearless dedication of our heroes at the rescue front line", said Chairman Liang Wengen.

More than six months has passed since the 5.12 earthquake, yet we will never forget the sorrow and pains, and nor will we forget the adamancy of the people in the disaster-stricken areas and the love and courage of the people across the country who joined hands in the battle. Following the earthquake, SANY responded at the first moment to the call of the Central Committee of the Party and State Council, and donated materials worth RMB18 million, and the company's Youth League Committee quickly organized a relief team of more than 80 members to rush to the disaster-stricken areas. The volunteer team with an average age of 26 followed the commands closely at the rescue front line, put up a fearless fight despite the continual after-shock, clearing more than 30 key gateways and rescuing over 20 endangered persons.

At the evening party of commendation, Liang Yezhong, Secretary of Youth League Committee of SANY announced the company's decisions: confer "SANY Special-Class Merit in Earthquake Relief" to special contributors including Zhu Dan, Li Biaozhi, Hong Rui and Tian Yubao, reward RMB100,000 each, upgrade their salary treatment and rank; confer "SANY First-Class Merit in Earthquake Relief" to nine employees including Ouyang Hua, Xia Wenbo, Yi Weixian, Yu Tianyu, Luo Xiaojun, Bao Yu, Xie Wei, Liu Yong and Wang Ting, reward RMB31,800 each and upgrade their salary by one rank; confer "SANY First-Class Merit in Earthquake Relief" to two employees including Wang Lin and Yu Qian and reward RMB31,800 each; confer "SANY Second-Class Merit in Earthquake Relief" to 31 employees including Luo Yuliang, He Zugang, Liu Binbin, among others, and reward RMB8,318 each; confer "SANY Gratitude Merit in Earthquake Relief" to 39 employees including Xiang Ru'an, Hu Dacheng and Chen Zhiting, others, and reward RMB500 each.

The company also promised to reward another RMB1 million to each winner of the special-class merit and RMB300,000 to each winner of the first-class merit still in service when the SANY's sales revenue exceeds RMB100 billion. The total prize is as much as RMB10 million.

The great honor gave the relief team members a pleasant surprise. They said it was a responsibility of everyone to rescue people in earthquake-stricken areas and they had never expected reward before, and the company's reward was a great encouragement to them.

As is known to the journalists, General Manager Zhu Dan of the Hoister Marketing Company served as chief commander in the rescue work. Vice Chief Commander Li Biaozhi led the team into Beichuan County, Pingwu County and An County to carry out rescue work. Tian Yubao, service engineer of Sichuan Branch of Pumping Company, operated excavators in Pingtong County for fours days and nights although his family was also stricken by the earthquake. Hong Rui, General Manager of Southwest Branch of Road Machinery Company led a team to walk into Beichuan County and saved many endangered persons with bare hands. Sichuan volunteers Wang Lin and Yu Qian actively participated in the SANY relief team and demonstrated their great courage and fortitude. In addition to the cash prize, they have been recruited by SANY school for free and will be formal employees of SANY after graduation with salary upgraded by one rank. At present, the two volunteers are studying at the school.

The brave performance of SANY relief team has won high praise from the government and the society. Recently, SANY relief team was conferred the honor of "10 Outstanding Volunteer Groups" by the Central Committee of the Communist Young League and Chinese Young Volunteers Association. Meanwhile, SANY relief team was also listed in "the heroic volunteer groups in earthquake relief" by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, while the honor has been granted to only four groups across the country.

At the evening party of commendation, Chairman Liang Wengen saluted and expressed thanks to SANY relief team on behalf of more than 28,000 SANY employees. He said that SANY as a conscientious enterprise should assume its responsibility and stand out bravely when the country is in a state of emergency. The volunteers fulfilled the obligations on behalf of the company, bringing back glory for SANY, for private enterprises and for the young generation born after 1980. RMB10 million as prize is not a small amount, but it seems insignificant in comparison with the fearless dedication of our heroes at the rescue front line. Liang expects all the employees to have a strong social responsibility awareness and win more honors for SANY.
