Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas announced the addition of the R260LC-9A crawler excavator. It provides operators with enhanced features and benefits including a certified IT4 engine upgrade, improved hydraulics, increased operator comfort and more durability. The R260LC-9A is part of Hyundai’s line of 9A series excavators, which meet IT4 standards.
The R260LC-9A boasts an operating weight of 56,880 lb., a bucket digging force of 38,290 lbf (SAE) and maximum dig-depth of 22 feet 12 inches. It features a low emission, low noise, 178 hp Cummins IT4/Stage IIIB QSB6.7 engine that includes the Cummins Direct Flow air filter. Other innovations such as the variable speed fan clutch, two-stage auto decel system and new economy mode help to conserve fuel and reduce environmental impact. Operators can choose between three engine modes - Power, Standard and Economy - which enable the machine to switch between full power and reduced fuel consumption according to preference. Also, the R260LC-9A comes with a redesigned hydraulic system, providing the operator with super fine touch and improved controllability.
Hyundai has improved the structure strength of the 9A series cabs with stronger but slimmer tubing for safety and visibility. High-strength steel forms a more durable upper and lower frame. The cab comes with a see-through upper skylight, a larger and one-piece right-side glass, safety glass windows on all sides that won’t scratch or fade, a closeable sunshade and a reduced front window seam. Operators can easily adjust the seat, console and armrest settings.
Some of the features and benefits of the cab include additional space, an enhanced climate control system, advanced audio system with USB player, AM/FM stereo and MP3 capabilities. An optional add on is a Smart Key System that allows the operator to start the ignition with the push of a button.
A simplified LCD display cluster allows the operator to easily adjust engine power and work modes, set boom speed and arm regeneration, view what’s happening behind them with the optional rear-view camera and protect the machine with a new password anti-theft system.
