Würzburg, Germany-based crane and lifting company Firmengruppe Ziegler is adding a number of Grove all-terrain cranes to its fleet this year. Already the purchaser of eight Grove models over the last two and a half years, the company is set to add a GMK5130-2, GMK4100L and GMK6300L in 2012.

Alex Gagarin, general manager at the company, said Ziegler chose Grove cranes for their reliability, flexibility and Manitowoc’s excellent customer service.
“We have been consistently expanding the number of Grove cranes in our fleet,” he said. “We are finding that the machines have a wide range of applications and perform with great consistency. Also, we get additional confidence from the service Manitowoc provides. They are trustworthy cranes from a trustworthy company.”
Founded in 1997, Ziegler has grown to 60 employees and operates a large fleet of machinery, including cranes. Ziegler is part of AVS Systemlift AG, a partnership of companies in the crane and lift platform business that together have 90 branches spread across Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and Romania.
Ziegler plans to use the new additions on a variety of work sites across Germany. Grove’s all-terrain cranes work well for Ziegler, because they have strong lift capacities, but are also very mobile and can handle the rigors of nearly any jobsite.
The Grove GMK5130-2 has a lifting capacity of 130 t and a 60 m boom. The GMK4100L features 100 t of lift capacity and 60 m boom, while the GMK6300L can lift 300 t and has an 80 m boom. All these models have quick set up times and can travel on most highways throughout Germany without the need for special permits. This makes them very mobile in getting from job to job, while the MEGATRAK suspension and all-wheel steer makes them highly maneuverable when they reach the job site.
Ziegler received the GMK5130-2 in August. In October, the company will receive the GMK4100L while the GMK6300L arrives in December.
