Sany Welcomes Visit by Foreign Minister

On December 26, 2010, Yang Jiechi, Chinese Foreign Minister, visited the headquarters of Sany Group in Changsha, Hunan Province, accompanied by Mei Kebao, Deputy Secretary of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee. Minister Yang was received by Xiang Wenbo, President of Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd, who gave him a guided tour of the company.

During the meeting held in the company’s No. 1 meeting room, a meeting room reserved for the company’s most distinguished guests, President Xiang told the Foreign Minister Sany is grateful for the support and help it has received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs directly or indirectly over the years, including the help and support the company has received from China’s ambassadors stationed in other countries. Mr. Xiang commented, “Even retired diplomats are a treasure to enterprises for their internationalization efforts.” Sany has taken on board several retired former ambassadors in the company’s international affairs on a full time or part time basis and they really have made distinctive contribution to the company’s reaching out to the international market.

A central task for the work of the Foreign Ministry and its foreign affairs personnel is to give support to the country’s companies and individuals in their development either at home or abroad, said the Minister. He added that the foreign affairs circle should give more support to Chinese companies on their way to globalization.

“I’m very much encouraged to learn that Sany has made investments and built plants in India and three other countries. When I accompanied Premier Wen Jiabao on a visit to India on December 15, 2010, the Premier mentioned Sany and Sany’s project was on a list of agreements signed between enterprises of China and India,” the Minister said.

At the end of the meeting, President Xiang Wenbo presented the Foreign Minister with a model of the Sany Crawler Crane SCC4000 which was adopted by the Chilean government for the rescue of the 33 trapped miners.
