Sany's First Special-Purpose Crawler Crane for Wind Power Plants

In October 2010, the SCC3000WE crawler crane, manufactured by Sany Shanghai Science & Technology, rolled off the production line. This crawler crane boasts the world’s first special-purpose crawler crane for wind power plant featuring movable counterweights. The crane can be used for the installation of the full range of 1.5MW wind power generators. In November, the SCC3000WE was showcased in BAUMA Shanghai 2010, and gained recognition and high opinions of experts in the industry. Many customers signed purchase orders for the machine during BAUMA exhibition.
 

On December 15, one unit of SCC30000WE crawler crane arrived at a wind power plant in Yantai city, Shandong province. It successfully accomplished the lifting task of the heaviest part of 1.5MW wind power generator – the “one-piece” cabin. Customers sang highly of the machine in terms of its performance, safe operation, and efficient assembling and disassembling.
Favorable comments come from Sany’s constant technical innovation. The SCC3000WE crawler crane features many breakthroughs against conventional design concepts, and obtains a number of advantages over other competitors.

SCC3000WE has an inspection and display system to check the stability of the whole machine and show the information on the screen, so that operator is able to have a clear view of gravity of the whole machine for safer operation; it adopts electric control system, which improves controllability of the machine and facilitates maintenance; the movable counterweights improves the stability of the whole machine; it also features the world’s first foldable booms, which help lower the gravity of the whole machine while the crane is traveling with all booms attached, thus offer safer traveling; the crane uses the world’s first variable drawstring, which can tighten itself while the crane is raising the boom so as to reduce deflection of lattice boom, and can loosen itself while the crane is working so as to eliminate the reverse back strength that the drawstring has on the lattice boom. As a result, the variable drawstring can extend the service life of lattice boom.

The SCC3000WE has a telescopic track, which can be set at positions of 7.8m, 6.2m and 4.8m, reducing the cost of road construction for wind power plant by 40%; the width of transportation for the crane is as narrow as 3m. Besides, the crane is equipped with mobile pumping station to facilitate the assembling and disassembling of lattice boom for customers.
What’s more, the SCC3000WE has a number of unique technologies, including optional vibratory joystick, anti-lightening device, fault self-diagnosis, automatic direction change while traveling, protection for startup of engine, black box function for recording data, GPS and so on. With its multiple functions, SCC3000WE has won the heart of many customers.
