Manitowoc to launch new three-axle crane at bauma

Manitowoc will launch the new three-axle crane GMK3060 at Bauma 2013. The GMK3060 is an upgrade of the popular GMK3055 with an additional 2 tonnes of counterweight. Manitowoc said the crane featured a 43m boom for increased lifting versatility and was designed with a new operator cab.

The GMK3060 also features Manitowoc’s new Crane Control System, which is designed to ease crane operation.

Manitowoc said the CCS hardware was a standardised and user-friendly interface comprising a set of displays, joysticks, control units and a jog dial.

The new GMK3060 also features a new boom optimisation feature to allow operators to input basic lift parameters, such as load, radius and load height, before the system automatically provides them with optimal boom options for performing the lift.
