Shantui has strong presence in Middle East

A long presence in the Middle East has strengthened Shantui’s sales and service networks, says Wang Feng, vice general manager

Shantui is in the ‘third phase’ of its presence in the Middle East, said Wang Feng, vice general manager of Shantui’s export company. The brand has been in the Middle East for ten years, and builds a ‘desert spec’ machine for the markets here.

Phase one, says Wang, was selling direct, with casual orders. Phase two was selling via agents, and now phase three has seen a refocusing, and signing with new agents, in Saudi Arabia, and in the UAE, Qatar, and Oman.“After sales service has become more and more important for us, and that’s why we have set up our subsidiary in Jebel Ali. We need to provide support to the local dealers, to give training, and help dealers improve their service.  

Our dealer’s engineers may not be so familiar with Shantui’s products, so our team in Jebel Ali provides them with training, and we also invite them to come to China.”   

The Jebel Ali warehouse holds a reserve of spare parts for speedy distribution, said Wang, and their dealers must also have a strong spare parts inventory.
