Caterpillar Named in the Inaugural Sunday Times Inward Investment Track

Caterpillar has been named in The Sunday Times Inward Investment Track as one of the largest 50 foreign employers investing in the UK. Published this weekend, the league table ranked overseas-headquartered multinationals by their UK staff number to shine a light on this important part of the economy.

Caterpillar established its first major facility outside the United States more than 60 years ago in the UK. The UK is one of the largest bases for Caterpillar outside the US, and our UK businesses export a significant portion of their manufactured products to a wide variety of customers and markets. Today, the company employs more than 9,000 people in 20 UK facilities.

The Inward Investment Track 50, sponsored by PA Consulting Group and supported by UK Trade & Investment, was published with The Sunday Times business section on 8 June 2014. Lord Livingston, the Government's minister for trade and investment, attended a networking dinner for the senior directors of the featured companies on 9 June, including Mark Dorsett, Caterpillar UK Country Manager and HR Director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
