Case was present at the World Touring Car Championship (WTTC) race meeting at the Moulay el Hassan circuit in Marrakesh on the 12th and 13th of April 2014 to support the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) “Action for Road Safety” campaign to educate and advocate for safer roads, vehicles and behaviour.
Case Construction Equipment joins sister brands Iveco, New Holland Agriculture and Iveco Bus on the World Touring Car Championship’s circuits to raise awareness and promote education on safer driving behaviour. This initiative fits within CNH Industrial’s role as a Global Partner of the FIA “Action for Road Safety” campaign and official supplier of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, which began in 2013.
Case was present at the WTCC’s first meeting of the year at the Moulay el Hassan circuit in Marrakesh with its exclusive distributor in Morocco, SOBERMA. The event was an opportunity for the Case and SOBERMA teams to promote their safety message to the 50 key customers they invited to view the race and take advantage of their hospitality area. The guests enjoyed the performance of local hero Mehdi Bennani, the only Moroccan and African driver to participate in the WTCC, who won an excellent 7th place in the first race and 5th in the second race. Both races were dominated by newcomer Citroën, with the surprise win by Argentinian José Lopez in the first and the favourite Sebastien Loeb conquering the second.
Mr. Hamid Belfkira, SOBERMA Managing Director, commented: “Safety on construction jobsites is always an important concern, and participation in a campaign like “Action for Road Safety” gives us an excellent opportunity to raise awareness and highlight with our customers good practices and the useful safety features in the equipment we sell.”
As an official supplier of FIA’s campaign, Case displayed an SR130 skid steer loader in the paddock area. A machine bristling with safety features, the SR 130 is an excellent example of the brand’s commitment to safety in construction: from the multiple protections for the operator to the industry-leading all round visibility that enhances safety on the jobsite, from the outstanding stability resulting from the wide wheel base to the easy and safe access to service points provided by the tilting cab.
“As a construction equipment brand, Case always puts safety first – safety for operators, for workers and for the general public in and around jobsites,” comments Andrea Rapali, Case Construction Equipment Area Leader for Northern and Central Africa. “The care for creating all-round safety in construction drives the development of our equipment and services, based on four pillars: Safety for operators - using Case equipment; Safety at work - with and around Case equipment; Safety at your Service - in maintaining Case equipment; Safety in the environment - in and around Case equipment.”
