Zhan Chunxin: Create Value for Customers and a Better Future

"All these efforts for change ultimately have only one purpose, and that is to meet customer needs, create value for customers and work with our partners to create a better future." In his speech at an evening event held on November 25 during the Bauma exhibition in Shanghai, Zoomlion chairman Zhan Chunxin discussed how the company should deal with the worst trough the Chinese construction machinery industry has experienced for 30 years. 

Zoomlion hosted the event, the theme for which was sharing the fruits of friendship and cooperation and working together for a brighter future, for global agents and customers in Shanghai. The party was attended by Zoomlion chairman Zhan Chunxin and other corporate executives, as well as agents and customers from around China and overseas countries and regions, including Europe, North America, Africa, South America, Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and friends from the global media. 

Zhan Chunxin noted that the biennial Shanghai Bauma exhibition is an important event in the calendar of the construction machinery industry. He stated that as far as Zoomlion is concerned, it is a window for reporting technological innovations as well as a platform for improving friendships and discussing the industry's development. Zoomlion's theme for this year's exhibition was "Sincere Science and Technology for a Bright Future," which reflects the company's sincere business attitude, its down-to-earth style of technology and its confidence to create a common future with customers.

It is precisely because we have this gratitude that we feel we have a responsibility to report back on what we have done and use our real but gradual progress to help develop the industry together with customers and maintain a good industry ecosystem," Zhan Chunxin said affectionately. 

Zoomlion chairman Zhan Chunxin emphasized that the Chinese construction machinery industry is in its worst trough for 30 years. "Other enterprises within the industry, many of whom are Zoomlion customers, are experiencing difficulties associated with this transitional period. But at the same time, we see, feel and are also creating strong positive energy during this downturn in the industry. Strategic transformations, management improvements, reducing costs, increasing efficiency and changing business models are all becoming the consensus and common actions within the industry. This unstoppable positive energy is an indicator of the industry's bright future development. 

"In this period of transformation and upgrading, Zoomlion will, first of all, seek to transform its strategy, from being a single construction machinery enterprise to being a diverse and complementary high-end equipment manufacturer, achieving collaborative development in the business sectors of engineering machinery, the environmental industry, agricultural machinery, heavy trucks and financial services. Second, the company will improve quality and upgrade its operations, continuously refine its management and take improvements to technology, quality, cost and service to the extreme. Third, it will change its business model, use the Internet of Things to build intelligent plants, produce smart products, and achieve precision marketing and direct access to customer information, trades and services using Internet tools and big data technology. All these efforts for change ultimately have only one purpose, and that is to meet customer needs, create value for customers and create a bright future together with our partners," Zhan Chunxin said confidently and expectantly.
