New Crane Operator Training Model Promoted Globally

In the course of training operators for medium- and large-tonnage mobile crane products, the problems of being difficult to operate and having diverse operating conditions, complex function combinations, and precise ground requirements have always existed. Moreover, the cost to customers of training new operators on machines is high and safety is low. For these reasons, the training office of Zoomlion's Mobile Crane Division linked up with the technology and IT departments to develop simulated operating systems for the QAY180 Truck Crane and the QUY450 Crawler Crane. The simulators were well received in the Middle East and will be rolled out to other countries around the world this year. 

In 2013, the software was used by customers in the UAE to train operators, and it enabled operators and technical personnel to quickly grasp the essentials of on-site operations in an indoor environment, which shortened their training time. Since this operating system was put to use in 2013, Zoomlion's Mobile Crane Division has organized five training sessions in its Middle East sales region at the request of customers and agents in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, and Oman. The training has been praised by customers and agents alike, and resulted in 15 people gaining the necessary qualifications to operate medium- and large-tonnage machinery. 

Training in the region has evolved from single customers buying vehicles and Zoomlion personnel being dispatched to provide on-site training, to a combination of pre-sale indoor training of machine operators and after-sale indoor and on-site training, in order to train high-quality operators of medium- and large-tonnage products for old and new customers, thereby eliminating any concerns they might have about purchasing Zoomlion products and boosting sales. 

The simulated operating system for medium- and large-tonnage cranes has laid a good foundation for Zoomlion's branch company to expand market share in the Middle East. In June this year, it will also be put to use in a number of other countries, including Brazil and South Africa.
