Liebherr-Aerospace in Lindenberg uses new robot to test cockpit controls

At the test and qualification center for aircraft systems in Lindenberg (Germany), the first robot has recently been put into operation. It is used to test the cockpit controls of various aircraft programs.

Since the cockpit controls of different aircraft types share a similar design, the robot can be used to test the landing gear actuation levers, tillers and other control units.

In the testing room of the robot, up to eight different devices can be installed at the same time. Compared to a conventional test rig, the industrial robot is more efficient and flexible. It can execute a movement in any direction, and during endurance and fatigue test it repeats motion sequences thousands of times without any problems.
