SANY South Africa: Improving Sales and Service Capability with GPS Devices

For a long time, SANY has been equipping their machinery with GPS devices as a value-added token. Through the GPS devices, customers would not only locate their vehicles, designate routes, dispatch vehicles, exercise safety management, gather speeding statistics and prevent theft. The company can also provide remote services to its equipment. So far, SANY South Africa has been carrying out trials of GPS projects regardless of the lack of network facilities and limited wireless coverage. Their moves have been widely hailed by customers.

As it is a must to establish cross-national GPS networking, the debugging of the networks is mandatory. SANY’s service engineer Lei Liu and Zhenguo Pan were charged with testing of the GPS system. Through consultation with many a network operators, and conducting multiple tests of the quality of the networks, they finally settled on the SIM cards of MIN and VODACOM to carry out the final tests. Through two months of tests and with the support of a service supplier, they were able to successfully plant the SIM card into the display screen of a SANY excavator. Now, SANY can exercise accurate positioning of its equipment sold in South Africa and its service capacity has been greatly expanded.
