At 8:00 a.m. on Sep 19th, Sany Heavy Industry donated a 46m concrete pump truck worth 500,000 USD to Guinea in Zhengzhou, Henan province, which would be the first pump truck in West Africa. Alpha Condé, the President of Republic of Guinea, some Guinean Government officials and Zhang Zhongke, General Manager of Sany Overseas were present at the donation ceremony.
At the ceremony Alpha Condé expressed his gratitude towards Sany’s donation and said that he would dispatch the commander in chief of engineer corps to visit SANY after returning home, hoping that SANY could support the post-war reconstruction of Guinea.
Guinea is located on the west coast of West Africa, with an area of 245,857 km2 and a population of 11 million. After years of war and conflicts, everything needs to be restored now. The concrete construction in West Africa is basically done through manpower and tower crane, consuming a large amount of labor. The arrival of the Sany 46m concrete pump truck will bring efficient and environmental-friendly construction technology to West Africa, elevating its industrial construction level.
At present, SANY owns a total of 8 subsidiaries in Africa and has over 600 sales and service employees, among which half are from Africa. Africa is also one of SANY’s first international markets.
“Without the SANY equipments, we won’t be able to continue the construction,” said some African customers. During phase one of the Angolan Government’s key construction project Kilamba Kiaxi, there were a total of 90 SANY equipments participating in the construction, including 22 trailer-mounted concrete pumps, 43 truck-mixers, 10 rollers, 4 graders, 10 concrete pump trucks and one patching plant. SANY’s pumping equipments were responsible for all concrete pumping work in the project.
South Africa is a relatively developed district in Africa, where SANY established its presence earlier and has sold more than 300 units of equipment in total. The equipments have played an important role in a series of national key construction projects including Gautrain rapid transit railway of South Africa, 2010 FIFA World Cup stadium, Johannesburg International Airport, dredging of the Durban port and KUSILE thermal power plant construction.
With the international 6S center in Algeria coming into service, the building of 6S center in South Africa and one of the seven major logistics centers of SANY settling in Johannesburg, SANY’s sales network distribution and facilities such as spare parts and service systems are gradually optimized. SANY’s products have contributed to the economic development and infrastructure construction of Africa.
Presently there are up to 3,000 SANY machines in African market.
