Liebherr Sunderland participates in the Brathay Apprentice Challenge 2014

A team of nine apprentices from Liebherr Sunderland Works Ltd. has entered this year’s Brathay Apprentice Challenge. In this challenge they will represent the company and compete against over 100 employers from across England to be crowned “apprentice team of the year 2014”.

The apprentices will be taking part in the regional heats of the challenge testing team building, leadership as well as logistical and communication abilities. They will be working on a community project as well as awareness raising activities. In the community project the apprentices will help at The Salvation Army-Southwick Community Project. The team will also be going into local schools to promote apprenticeships and engineering, taking a portable welding booth to give students first-hand experience of their work at Liebherr.

On the 9th of April those eight companies that have reached the finals will be announced by the House of Commons. The final teams will then compete over three days with the winner being announced in June.
