Volvo releases new P7820C ABG and P8820C ABG Pavers

Recently, Volvo introduced the new P7820C ABG and P8820C ABG Pavers. With independent travel drives, electronic traction control and powerful Volvo engines, the new P7820C ABG and P8820C ABG take steep hills and tight turns in stride.

 

The new P8820C ABG tracked paver from Volvo Construction Equipment can pave widths up to 42.7 ft. (13 m), while the P7820C ABG paves up to 36 ft. (11 m). Both machines combine power and precision — delivering a perfectly smooth mat, even in demanding conditions, such as steep hills.

 

Designed as global paving products, the only differing feature is the engine, made to comply with local market requirements. In North America, pavers are powered by the newest Volvo engine — a D8 Tier 4 interim emissions-compliant, six-cylinder, 7-liter engine. The P7820C is equipped with a 235 hp (175 kW) engine while the P8820C possesses 268 hp (200 kW); both engines offer high power and low noise and fuel consumption.

 

The pavers were designed to maximize fuel economy, conserving fuel without affecting operation through an operator-selected smart power mode. If engaged, the smart power mode immediately lowers power to 1,600 RPM, reducing fuel consumption by up to 30 percent.
