At 3:18p.m. December 31, 2008, a new world record in construction machinery fell on Sany Heavy Industry. The truck-mounted concrete pump with the world's longest boom (72m) independently developed by Sany Heavy Industry came off line, breaking the world record. This is not simply an enlargement of the old 66-meter pump, but Sany's another breakthrough in the pump technology, marking that it has owned core technology in this field and taken the lead in the world. This is not only the pride of Hunan's manufacturing, as well as the glory of China's equipment manufacturing.
Yi Xiaogang, executive president of Sany, introduced that the breakthrough of the 72-meter pump in large mechanical intelligent control technology lies in integration of equipment manufacturing technology with modern information technology, the jack, boom, delivery and control systems are all permeated by Sany's scientific and technological innovation. Yi said the 72-meter pump created two world records: one is boom height (72m), and the other delivery capacity.
"It is rather difficult to extend a boom one meter", from the first 37-meter pump to the 72-meter pump with world's longest boom, Sany has been pioneering industry progress by its strong capacity for independent innovation.
Sany was unwilling to lag behind early when it entered the construction machinery industry by taking the lead in developing the 37-meter boom with independent intellectual property right in the industry at home in 1999, making China have a good mastery of key boom technology previously owned by few countries like Germany and changing the situation in which over-37-meter booms were solely imported.
In March 2001, Sany developed the domestic longest 48-meter boom. In September 2003, Sany rolled out the 56-meter pump with Asia's longest boom, becoming one of the world's few manufacturers of 56-meter pumps then and having reached the world advanced level in the R & D of pumps and booms. In 2007, Sany hit the market again with the internationally advanced 66-meter pump with the world's largest boom, and acquired a certificate recognized by the head office of the Guinness World Records.
Sany has been keeping pursuing and exploring independent innovation and constantly making breakthrough in products and technologies. Through nearly a decade of development, Sany's pumps have integrated industrially leading technologies including ultra-long pumping, unilateral support, computerized energy-saving control, boom vibration control, X-shaped jack, roll-over protective control, SYMC special control and intelligent boom control. Sany's leading pump technology has been widely used for construction machinery manufacturing and pioneered the technical development of the industry.
Now, Sany has grown into one of the world's largest concrete pump manufacturing bases with a share of 56% in the domestic market. In 2008, the sales of Sany's pumps increased nearly 30% compared with last year.
Yi said customers and new construction environments would keep posing new requirements for construction machinery with rapid economic development and constant scientific and technological innovation, and Sany will focus on presenting more safe, practical, stable and efficient products in the future to save operating cost and create more value for customers
