Liebherr set up new base in Australia

Liebherr-Australia has started an expansion project of $85 million. The project will include a three-storey office building, servicing warehouse, workshops and a new national distribution centre.

Liebherr-Australia managing director Greg Graham said "This facility will provide re-manufactured components and logistics services to support Liebherr equipment in Western Australia, South Australia, Northern Territory, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland."

Liebherr's upgraded facility will provide support to the company's mining, mobile crane and earthmoving customers in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

It will also be a manufacturing base for large mining excavator buckets and high-pressure hydraulic hoses, as well as offer a servicing operation for components on mining equipment.

The new facility is expected to be completed by July next year and forms part of a global expansion of the Switzerland-based Liebherr Group
