Port Machinery: SANY Wins Big Contract with Port Swettenham

At 10 a.m. on February 16, news came to the Sales Company of SANY’s port machinery business unit that SANY had won the contract of 7 empty container handlers for the construction of Port Swettenham in Malaysia and the contract had been signed.

It is said that Port Swettenham, the largest port in Malaysia, handled 10 million TEU in 2012. Port Swettenham was known for its strictness in choosing equipment and it usually preferred European brands. After tough negotiations, it finally decided to buy one empty container handler. The customer was very content with its performance after using it for more than six months. It was a demonstration of international competitiveness for SANY to be chosen by Port Swettenham among other competitors home and abroad.

Meanwhile, SANY also won contracts of 4 port machines and 2 quay cranes with big customers from Australia and Hong Kong. Many customers expressed their willingness for further cooperation with SANY, “We cooperated with SANY before and we are impressed by the world class performance of the equipment we are using. I hope that there will be more cooperation with SANY in the harbor machinery industry in 2013. ”
