Yuchai to build national first-class garden-type engine testing base

On the afternoon of July 4, a delegation, headed by Chairman Yan Ping, Deputy General Manager Liang Qingyan and Chief Engineer Shen Jie of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM), headed to the western plant of Yuchai Machinery Parts Manufacturing Co. Ltd. for a field survey. YM planned to build a "national first-class garden-type engine testing base" at the western plant, and Yan required that relevant units should embark upon the construction work as soon as possible.

According to the source, the new testing base, with an area of over 180 mu, will be connected to the existing laboratory to form a garden-type modern high-caliber engine R & D and testing base integrating multiple functions such as work, reception, meeting and leisure.

Yuchai has always valued product R & D and spared no investments in such aspects as talent introduction, sci-tech finding reward, plant building and equipment purchase in a bid to build a world-class product R & D base. Yuchai boasts the best-equipped state-recognized laboratories and first-class R & D teams in the industry, making its engine R & D level keep ahead in the industry for years. Yuchai Technology Center ranks 27th among 575 state-recognized corporate technical centers in the country and first in the engine industry. 

Yuchai is not only the country's only engine enterprise with autonomous capacity for electric control calibration, but also well ahead of its counterparts in the R & D of high-efficiency clean diesel engines. In 2006 and 2007, Yuchai successively developed China's first National IV and V engines and took the lead to launch them in volume, thus becoming a national brand matching world-famous brands. This June 29, Yuchai first introduced China's first Euro VI vehicle diesel engine and managed to keep pace with the world in R & D capacity. Besides, Yuchai has taken the lead in the industry to introduce new products such as hybrid products and two-stage charging diesel engines, which have been used extensively by automakers. 

Yuchai has set the objective of building an enterprise with annual sales of RMB 100 billion in the "twelfth five-year" period. To provide strong core technical support for the accomplishment of the objective, Yuchai has further increased investment in product R & D in recent years, and launched the construction of a new product R & D base in Nanning last year on the basis of strengthening the original capacity, which is expected to go into operation this year. Now, Yuchai proposes to extend the product testing base in accordance with high standards and requirements, thereby further boosting R & D strength and approaching the objective of building an R & D base ranking among world top five.
