Zoomlion is Elected as the Most Respected Chinese Listed Companies in 2008

On December 18, "50 most respected Chinese listed companies" in 2008 was selected by the authority of financial institutions in the world—the world's financial laboratory and financial magazine "World Entrepreneur", "the manager of the world," in Hong Kong, and announced by professor John Deighton from Harvard Business School, Professor Ravi Dhar from School of Management of Yale University for the winning company. Zoomlion was elected as "the most respected Chinese Listed Companies" ranking No. 16, and "the best Board of Directors of Listed Companies in China"; Secretary of the Board of Directors Mr. Li Jianda was elected as "the best secretary of board in China's listed companies".

Corporate governance is becoming more and more focused by operators, investors, creditors, legislators and law enforcement around the world. Whether a company's management structure is reasonable or not, it has a direct bearing on the company's management efficiency, and thus has a significant impact on its performance. The World's Financial Laboratory investigated and the selected of 1600 Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchange-listed companies through more than 3 months. From the corporate governance theory and practice, they use the world's most advanced GCG model (Global Corporate Governance); use statistics and operations research, use certain indicators in accordance with reasonable procedures, through quantitative and qualitative analysis, and make an objective system evaluation on the corporate governance situation of the Chinese listed companies in the form of index. The system constructs evaluation system of 5 first-level indicator, 20 secondary-level targets, and 98 three-level of indicators; it is from 5 latitudes of the "shareholders", "ownership structure", "Board of Directors," "salary system" and "disclosure".

 

China's economy in 2008 is not ordinary, so as China's capital market. Under the slowdown of foreign financial crisis and domestic economy, overall performance of China's listed companies is still growing, but growth has obviously slowed down. In this context, Zoomlion was elected as "the most respected 50 Chinese listed companies in 2008", which is the objective evaluation on Zoomlion corporate governance situation by the world's financial authority.
