Sany Sells Well from the Very Beginning – A Talk on Marketing Innovation by Cheng Hua, General Manager of Marketing Department of Sany Heavy Industry

From January to April this year, under leadership of the Group Board of Directors, enjoyed a favorable start in business through Sany staff's concerted efforts, pioneering spirits, and determination to overcome several unfavorable factors such as ice and snow disaster, inadequate energy, shortage of core parts supply and price increase of raw materials: The Eight Business Department achieved a total sales revenue of 5.5 billion RMB, with an increase of 123% above that of the corresponding period of the last year, thus accomplishing the target task assigned by the Group Board of Directors.

The rapid sales growth in full swing illustrates fully the market competitiveness of Sany products. At present, most of the Group's products rank among the best in the market, six categories of which take the lead in the sector and 14 categories rank the third place in the market. Of all these, the products that have taken the lion's share include: Concrete pump truck, trailer-mounted concrete pump, truck-mounted concrete pump, multifunctional paver, rotary drilling rig and 80-ton (or above) crawler cranes.

In early months of 2008, quite a few specialists in the industry became worried that the government's macroeconomic regulation, rising costs, and the U.S. economic recession would impose any negative impact. However, according to the market situation in the first four months and the future analysis, the government will continue to vigorously step up infrastructure construction, and construction of railways, highways, airports, docks, water conservancy and hydropower projects, and stadium building will remain active. The Western Development and New Rural Construction and other state policies are to be further implemented and promoted. Therefore, we have reasons to believe that the construction machinery industry will maintain a rapid growth in 2008.

The overall rapid growth of construction machinery industry has brought about more opportunities, and also is bound to face greater challenges - how to build a stronger core competitiveness and to continuously upgrade the industry leading position in increasingly fierce competition in the market. First of all, each employee must be concerned about the market and customers, and create more value for customers. By constantly upgrading our refined manufacturing standards, optimizing procurement and production and other critical processes, strengthening the awareness of quality in the staff, and tapping production potential, we can ensure providing our customers with better quality products and prompt and satisfactory services.

The Marketing Department will work to create a platform of marketing support, supervision and management for the group, and form an overall system of supervision and assessment for the market; to build two financing channels of the group: mortgage and financing lease, with good monitoring and control of two major types of loans for the group in overdue mortgage and legislation; to research international and domestic markets; to continuously upgrade the level of exhibitions with "seven major characteristics"; to manage well nine types of major customers of the group; to plan marketing platforms for 23 6S stores. We will make the Marketing Department a department of Sany's general staff with strategic significance in provision of decision-making basis for the group's development, making unremitting efforts to achieve the Group's goal of breaking through the annual revenue of 100 billion RMB.
