YZMP's 1st W-6X35 intelligent low-speed marine diesel engine accepted

On March 7, the first W-6X35 intelligent low-speed marine diesel engine of Yuchai Zhuhai Marine Power Co., Ltd. (YZMP) completed the bench test with all technical parameters up to the design requirements, and was accepted by the classification society. With a power of 5,220 kilowatts and a total weight of 80 tons, W-6X35 meets Tier II emission requirements and will be installed on multi-purpose vessels fabricated by Fujian's ship owners. 

W-6X35 is the first W-335 intelligent diesel engine that adopts the new method of high-pressure common-rail fuel injection (UNIC), which operates flexibly. It has made it possible to adjust exhaust emission, fuel consumption rate and time between overhauls, thus optimizing diesel engine performance. Besides, the fuel feeding unit separates the fuel feeding system and the servo oil feeding system to stabilize the engine. 　

Additionally, fuel conservation is another major characteristic of W-6X35: firstly, W-6X35 uses the new-generation electronic pulse cylinder lubrication system to enormously reduce cylinder fuel consumption; secondly, W-6X35 owns advanced energy conservation technology, adopts three adjustment modes, flexibly selects control parameters of fuel injection and vent valve through the software control system without changing the reliability of the main unit and mechanical components, thus accomplishing low fuel consumption; lastly, W-6X35 is equipped with a high-efficiency booster to enhance the efficiency of the main unit and reduce fuel consumption. The low fuel consumption of W-6X35 has yielded substantial economic benefit for ship owners. 　

W-35 is mainly applied to small vessels. In view of the limited space of the engine compartment during design, a compact air cooler was adopted. At the stage of equipping, the engine ensured equipment efficiency and safety through special 3D modeling, computer-aided stress simulation and ANSYS finite element stress analysis.

The birth of W-6X35 perfectly embodies YZMP's strategy of "starting up with the world", marking a solid step of Yuchai in marine diesel engine manufacturing.
