YM ranks among "national model enterprises in harmoniouslabor relations"

From August 15 to 16, the national conference on commending advanced individuals and enterprises and exchanging experience in harmonious labor relation construction, jointly organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, All China Federation of Trade Unions, China Enterprise Confederation, China Enterprise Directors Association and All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce, was held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. At the conference, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM) won the title of "national model enterprises in harmonious labor relations", and a total of eight enterprises from Guangxi shared the title. Li Tiansheng, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Yuchai Group and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of YM, attended the conference and received the award on behalf of Yuchai, and exchanged experience on behalf of Guangxi. 

At the conference, Xi Jinping, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Political Bureau, secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and vice president of the State, delivered an important speech. He noted, currently, China's labor relations are harmonious and stable overall, but some new situation and problems have arisen, effective measures must be taken to guide labor relations in developing healthily in the direction of standardization and orderliness, fairness and reasonableness, mutual benefit and win-win, and harmony and stability. He stressed, to construct harmonious labor relations, we must persist in human orientation, and take solving the greatest, most direct and immediate concerns of workers and practically protecting their economic, political, cultural and social benefits as the fundamental starting point and objective. 

Li delivered an experience-sharing speech entitled Relying on Four Instruments to Build a Harmonious Enterprise. He said, YM's main experience in building a harmonious enterprise is centering on "humans", corporate leaders value staff's benefits above anything else, take strengthening team building as the penetrating point, and rely on four instruments, "regulation implementation, occupational training, incentive and motivation, and culture transmission", to build an affectionate great family of enterprise. In 2006, Yuchai came up with the core concept of "Green Development & Harmony Win-win", whose guiding idea is keeping to the green road of energy conservation, low carbon and environmental protection, and building harmonious internal and external relations for the enterprise, to accomplish win-win and common development of the enterprise and related parties. YM has upheld the core concept of Yuchai, transmitted the culture of harmony and win-win in depth, created a rich and harmonious cultural atmosphere, solidly established the concept of harmony and win-win among workers, actively participated in constructing harmonious labor relations, and made workers share weal and woe with the company, thus accomplishing harmony and win-win. The strong cohesion, centrifugal force and productivity of the harmonious enterprise have promoted its better and faster development. In 2010, Yuchai sold 550,000 units of diesel engines, with revenues of RMB 19.1 billion, up 18% and 30% respectively from 2009, and won titles such as "National Outstanding Units in Corporate Culture Construction", "National Model Worker Families" and "National Civilized Units". 

YM is inspiring and felt the heavy duty as a representative of commended enterprises. In the future, the company will implement the spirit of the conference, and renew efforts to actively construct labor relations of "standardization and orderliness, fairness and reasonableness, mutual benefit and win-win, and harmony and stability", in a bid to build a beautiful home in which the enterprise cares about workers, workers value the enterprise as home and labor relations are harmonious.
