On July 14, the 6th 100-Person Academic Forum on China Corporate Culture & China Corporate Culture Conference Yuchai opened in Yulin, Guangxi. At the conference, Yuchai was awarded the title of "national model base for corporate culture building" by the China Corporate Culture Institute (CCCI), and 131 theoretical research findings on corporate culture building were awarded. Among over 200 attendees were experts from national academic and theoretical circles, enterprise representatives from all walks of life in all provinces and municipalities, and journalists.

At the conference, Yan Ping, chairman and Party secretary of Yuchai Group, one of "Ten Models in Corporate Culture Practice over Three Decades", gave a typical experience report on corporate culture building entitled Green Leads Development, Innovation Makes Success--Yuchai Report on Core Values Cultivation and Practice. The impressive report aroused thunderous applause, offering the attendees a further understanding of Yuchai's corporate culture building.

Formerly Yulin Quantang Industrial Cooperative founded in 1951, Yuchai now has over 30 wholly-owned shareholding and joint-stock subsidiaries and over 230,000 employees, is reputed as the "Chinese Capital of Green Power", and has become the internal combustion engine manufacturing base as well as the small and medium-power full-hydraulic excavator manufacturer with the most complete spectrum of products in the country. After 61 years' development, Yuchai has accumulated profound cultural essence, formed a complete distinctive set of fine corporate culture concept systems with the core concept of "Green Development & Harmony Win-win", the mission of "Making the trust of partners and the public more valuable" and the vision of "Building a world-famous brand, a large-sized multinational group"". Yuchai has actively explored an effective approach for deep integration and mutual promotion of corporate culture and business management practice, to effectively transform corporate culture power into cohesion, combativeness and competitiveness and improve innovation capacity. Since the beginning of the eleventh "five-year" period, Yuchai has accomplished all-out and rapid development. Guided by the overall concept of "leadership, full participation, overall planning, systematic advancement, management integration and behavior implantation", Yuchai has pressed ahead with corporate culture building in a progressive and all-round manner. With content as basis, innovation as carrier and market as orientation, Yuchai has carried out cultural traits including self-reliance, harmony, responsibility and lean, and has grown constantly and rapidly, thus forming a culture system featuring eight prominent features including "green, innovation, self-reliance, harmony, responsibility, excellence, lean and win-win".
According to the materials and training facts submitted by Yuchai, the expert panel had conducted an in-depth survey on Yuchai's corporate culture building. thought Yuchai has made substantial achievements in corporate culture building and created successful experience, which are reflected in the following aspects: 1. The leading body, highly culturally conscious, has lead all staff in successfully building a culture with the core concept of "Green Development & Harmony Win-win", thus injecting strong mental dynamism into corporate development. 2. Yuchai has closely integrated corporate culture building with actualities of corporate management, blended the corporate culture concept into corporate management and transformed the cultural concept into staff's behavioral habits, thus accomplishing culture building; 3. Yuchai has attached great importance to innovative culture building, constantly improved its capacity for independent innovation, and progressively formed its core technology advantage and competitiveness, thus making Yuchai a Chinese famous independent innovation brand; 4. Yuchai has stuck to the concept of human orientation, actively performed social responsibility, and endeavored to build harmonious labor and social relations, the accomplishing the harmony of staff and enterprise and the harmony of enterprise and society. Through corporate culture building, Yuchai has boosted its corporate core competitiveness, and pushed forward the leapfrog and sustainable development. Yuchai has set a good example and should be popularized nationwide.

Upon full demonstration and deliberation, CCCI has decided to accredit Yuchai as a "national model base for corporate culture building". At the conference, Hua Rui, executive vice president of CCCI, read the decision of awarding the title of "national model base for corporate culture building" to Yuchai; Jia Chunfeng, former deputy director-general of the Bureau of Theory of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee, director-general researcher and vice chairman of CCCI; presented the certificate of "national model base for corporate culture building" to Yuchai; Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. received the certificate on behalf of Yuchai; Hu Ping, former minister of commerce, former director of the Special Zone Office of the State Council and chairman of CCCI and Man Changxue, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yulin Municipal Committee and vice mayor of Yulin unveiled "Yuchai national model base for corporate culture building".
According to sources, since launching the review on "national model bases for corporate culture building" in 2002, CCCI has named 20 "national model bases for corporate culture building". Yuchai is the country's 20th and Guangxi's first of kind. Previously, Yuchai had won honors including "National Civilized Entity", "National Outstanding Entity in Corporate Culture Building", "Chinese Model Entity in Cultural Management", "National Outstanding Corporate Culture Achievements" and "Guangxi Model Base for Corporate Culture Building"
At the conference, Prof. Zhang Guoyou, vice chairman of Peking University Council, made an impressive comment on Yuchai's corporate culture building and offered his precious views on the model role of Yuchai culture: 1. Corporate culture is the accumulation of time; 2. An enterprise should straighten out its basic framework, stick to its core value, promote changes in fields of non-core values, establish a basic mechanism and maintain healthy and orderly corporate development; 3. The purpose of corporate culture building is to promote corporate progress through staff progress.
Since 2007, CCCI has held a "100-Person Academic Forum on China Corporate Culture" and yielded bumper fruits. The forum was hailed as a high-level exchange gathering for connecting academism and practice innovation in the Chinese corporate culture world. This year's forum was held in Yulin, Guangxi to make attending experts and delegates comprehend the profound cultural essence Yuchai has accumulated over the 61 years. In the opening day, attending experts and delegates visited the "five show zones and six central show points" characteristic of Yuchai at its headquarters, watched the opening gala of Yuchai Youth Culture and Art Festival and experienced colorful Yuchai culture on the spot.
Under the theme of "Cultivating the core values of enterprises and advancing the cultural management of enterprises", the conference will run three days. During the conference, attending experts and delegates will had theoretical discussions on corporate value values at Yulin Hotel.
