YM holds FCPA training

On May 8, according to the work requirements of Yuchai International listed in the U.S., Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM) held the training on the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) to enhance cadres' and staff's awareness of clean practice and press ahead with the company's work on corruption combat. Among more than 200 attendees were corporate leaders such as General Manager Wu Qiwei and Party Secretary Li Tiansheng, as well as relevant staff of all plants and departments. Ye Bin, deputy Party secretary and discipline secretary of YM, presided over the training.  

Training scene 　

The training was given by Fan Yuanjing, auditor of Ernst & Young (China) Advisory Limited. In the training, Fan explained the meaning of FCPA, elaborated on FCPC risk indicators, consequences of violating FCPA and anti-bribery provisions of FCPA, and FCPA-accounting, bookkeeping and internal control, and introduced the UK Bribery Act, etc. In light of actualities of listed Yuchai International, she introduced the degree of perfection of the company's anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC) program, stated the company's viewpoint on forbidding bribes to anyone by analyzing typical cases, and taught the trainees to report illegal behavior through normal channels to safeguard corporate interests. 

In the interactive session, Fan raised questions that may arise in work such as "Can you offer a birthday gift to a business partner?" "The sales manager invites two major customers to watch a football match with each ticket costing some 250 Singapore dollars, it is allowed?" and discussed with the trainees to help them work out proper solutions. Also, an FCPA quiz was held to test training results. 

According to Ye, the training has achieved the effect of discussing laws according to cases, deepened our understanding of relevant overseas laws and regulations and laid a solid foundation for us to better develop overseas markets; at the same time, it has further told that we must enhance our understanding of laws and regulations, consciously comply with laws and regulations in foreign-related work, constantly enhance our legal awareness, improve our overall quality and manage clean practice to better contribute to Yuchai's healthy development.
