Yuchai Corporate Culture Seminar, themed "Constructing Cultural Competitiveness, Supporting Twelfth Five-Year Development", was held at Power Building on August 9. Based on the corporate culture achievement solicitation and selection campaign, the seminar was aimed at commending outstanding corporate culture achievements, refining and summarizing the experience in corporate culture building. Leaders, including Wu Shuangping, chief of the Division of Publicity and Mass Work and deputy director of the Office of the Work Coordination Group on Corporate Culture Building of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Li Tiansheng, vice chairman of Yuchai Group; Zhang Jiasha and Guo Deming, deputy secretaries of the Party Committee of Yuchai were present.

The seminar opened with an introduction of Yuchai's corporate culture building and development from multiple aspects by representatives of six units. The representative of the Corporate Culture Department analyzed Yuchai's achievements in corporate culture, and conducted an in-depth dissection of the cultural advantage and characteristic of "unity of knowledge and action, harmony and coexistence"; the representative of the Enterprise Management Department elaborated on how to ensure cultural development through system; the representative of the International Sales & Marketing Department offered his opinion on how to globalize Yuchai's culture; the representative of CSR Yuchai Sichuan Engine Co., Ltd. showed how the new company gradually accomplishes the strong combination of the two corporate cultures with a lot of examples; Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited introduced the experience in how to transregional cultural integration; the representative of the foundry shared the experience in building the foundry culture with plant characteristics.
During summarizing corporate culture research achievements, Guo noted, all units took active part in the solicitation and selection campaign, and 67 papers on achievements in corporate culture researches were solicited, which cover research subjects such as cultural integration, sub-culture building, cultural orientation and cultural development. The selection adopted the way of blind selection with contributors left out to ensure objectivity and fairness. It is encouraging that all units reached consensus on corporate culture and achievements were of high quality, but there were also deficiencies such as research shallowness and inadequacy in linking theory with practice. Improvements are yet to be made.

Wu considered the corporate culture achievement solicitation and exchange as a valuable activity, offering his opinions on Yuchai's corporate culture: firstly, Yuchai's corporate culture has built Yuchai brand, and Yuchai has become the pride and icon of Guangxi; secondly, the corporate culture has sharpened Yuchai's core competitiveness; thirdly, Yuchai's corporate culture development has become increasingly scientific and perfect; lastly, Yuchai's corporate culture building has offered valuable experience and guidance for Guangxi's corporate culture building.

Li recognized Yuchai's mode and strength of pressing ahead with corporate culture building, saying all units should reach a consensus that Yuchai's corporate culture will become the greatest core competitiveness, but there are currently four gaps for Yuchai's corporate culture: orientation, understanding, building and sustainability. He noted, all units should build the corporate culture systematically, blend the corporate culture into staff's daily behavior, fulfill corporate culture development as the loop of project management is enclosed, and maximize the effects of cultural achievements. Gaps determine space for improvement. Hopefully, all units will truly turn corporate culture building into a group action and change the corporate culture into the company's greatest core competitiveness.
Also, the seminar commended the authors of prizewinning works in the corporate culture achievement solicitation and selection campaign, and held interactions. Attendees offered their ideas and suggestions for corporate culture building.
