Yuchai launches 2012 labor contests

On March 5, Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM) held the launch ceremony for labor contests in 2012, announcing the opening of the quality and equipment labor contests. Among attendees were Li Tiansheng, Party secretary of YM; Ning Xingyong, deputy general manager of YM; Liang Ping, chairman of the Labor Union of YM and Tan Guirong, assistant to general manager of YM, as well as members of implementation groups on quality and equipment labor contests and representatives of participating entities.

The two contests will run from March until the end of this year, will target all YM's personnel of design, manufacturing, inspection, measurement management and equipment maintenance, and will last for a long span of time, cover a wide range of personnel, involve diverse items and conduct rigorous evaluation. 　

As the leader in charge of YM's quality line, Tan stressed the importance of the quality labor contest at the ceremony, saying this year is the second and most important year for the company's project of "improving quality by 100% within three years". This year's goal of "improving quality by 30%" must be achieved, because it relates to the success or failure of the project. He required that everyone should be mobilized to participate in the quality labor contest; everyone should work out an objective and a plan; and all entities should duly make summaries and give awards. Also, he required that the implementation group on the labor contest and participating entities should carefully organize staff for participation, do the work well, and provide strong support for constructing a perfect quality control system of Yuchai, accomplishing "zero defect" and ensuring the fulfillment of the annual business target.  　

As the leader in charge of YM's production line, Ning raised requirements for the equipment labor contest, saying the contest is not like a 100-meter sprint that produces results promptly but a marathon, which calls for the prolonged passion and perseverance of all staff. He required that all maintenance workers should cherish the opportunity to display their talent, treat the contest seriously and demonstrate their best skills and styles.
