From March to April, 2011, Saudi Arabia Office of Yuchai Sales Co., Ltd. (YS) gave technical training to and exchanged ideas with service agents and major customers. The training is aimed to make more customers understand and recognize Yuchai brand, and to teach customers correct operation methods to improve the capacity of service agents for technical service, reduce customers' maintenance cost and increase service efficiency.
So far, the number of Yuchai engines in possession in Saudi Arabia has exceeded 8,000 units. Actually, Yuchai has been the first bus engine brand in Saudi Arabia. However, the weak management and technical foundation of Saudi Arabia's bus transport industry has objectively impaired the reputation of Yuchai's products and unnecessarily increase customers' operation costs.
More than 90 percent of hajj vehicles are concentrated in Mecca. NTC is currently Yuchai's exclusive and only service agent in this area. Its service efficiency and quality has a direct bearing on Yuchai's brand reputation. To improve the capacity of NTC service outlet for Yuchai engine service, aiming at the problem of weak technical foundation recently exposed by the outlet, Saudi Arabia office conducted theoretical interpretation and site demonstration to the outlet's service team, and achieved good effects.
Besides, many customers have poor maintainability, some lack common sense of engines, some do not even know valve clearance and injection angle; some drivers have rough drive habits; and some lack common sense of daily maintenance. Saudi Arabia office once received a customer report, saying the temperature of a 4D engine was abnormal. The service personnel opened the engine, only to find almost no water is fed.
In Saudi Arabia, such customer training is normal. To enable customers to properly operate and maintain engines, training must be conducted persistently. It shows Yuchai's contribution to Saudi Arabia's bus engine maintenance industry as an engine manufacturer, and can make customers accept Yuchai's products technically and emotionally, thus enhancing Yuchai's image as the "first bus engine brand" in the competition against its Chinese peers and peers from Europe, America, Japan and Korea.
