Yuchai signs new collective contract, special collective contract for female workers

On the afternoon of July 20, the signing ceremony of Yuchai Group and Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM) for the collective contract and special collective contract for female workers was held at the meeting room on the third floor of Power Building. Zhang Jiasha, deputy Party secretary of Yuchai, presided over the ceremony. Gu Tangsheng, agent of Yuchai's employer party and Wu Qiwei, YM's agent of YM's employer party signed the collective contract and special collective contract for female workers with Liang Ping, chief representative of workers and legal representative of the trade unions of Yuchai and YM.

Over 170 persons, including corporate leaders like Li Tiansheng, Guo Deming, Ning Xingyong, Liang Qingyan, Wang Wei and Li Chengjie, Party leaders, chairmen of grass-roots trade unions and directors of female worker committees of all units under Yuchai, representatives of both parties to the collective contracts, as well as some worker representatives were present. Gu Tangsheng, president of Yuchai, delivered a speech.

Gu stressed, the collective contract and the special collective contract for female workers will be binding upon both the administrative party and the worker party. The administrative party is in duty bound to honor its commitments, and should earnestly, fairly and equally protect workers' interests; the worker party should work hard with focus on corporate production and business operation; both parties should be passionate, value responsibilities and fulfill missions in a joint effort to promote corporate development and make workers better enjoy benefits from corporate development.

A collective contract is the "parent contract" of a labor contract. The system of collective contract helps to safeguard the lawful rights and interests of workers and enterprises, to make labor relations more harmonious, stable and solid, and to promote corporate development. Since the 1990s, Yuchai has signed the collective contracts every year in accordance with the Labor Contract, and signed them every three years since 2008. The new collective contract and special collective contract for female workers are formed upon amendments in accordance with new state laws and regulations, extensive solicitation of opinions and discussion by worker representatives, will play a significant role in improving working and living conditions, arousing laborers' production enthusiasm, increasing working efficiency, safeguarding the lawful rights and interests of enterprises and workers, and establishing stable and harmonious labor relations.
