STD heads press group to Yuchai for news material collection

On the afternoon of November 3, led by Jiang Dongzhou, head of Guangxi office of Science and Technology Daily (STD), some 31 journalists from five media outlets including STD, Information Today, China Intellectual Property News, Popular Science News and Qqwwr visited Yuchai to collect news materials and cover Yuchai's 60th anniversary. Leaders of Yuchai Group, including Deputy Party Secretary Li Tiansheng and Guo Deming warmly received the visitors. 　

At the interview seminar, Li briefed the journalists about Yuchai's tough fight and independent innovation over the six decades, with a focus on its achievements in transforming the mode of economic development and pressing ahead with modern enterprise reform in the "eleventh five-year" period. Yuchai's sales revenues have tripled from RMB 12 billion in 2005 to RMB 37 billion in 2010, said Li, adding Yuchai has formed "two product chains and several industrial clusters" and a favorable pattern of mutual support among six industrial sectors, thus constantly enhancing its survivability and competitiveness. Yuchai has set a goal of achieving annual sales of RMB 100 billion in the "twelfth five-year" period, this year marks Yuchai's 60th anniversary and the opening of the "twelfth five-year" period, Yuchai will take this opportunity to work hard for flying start in the period. 　　

The anniversary celebration is a conference for Yuchai to summarize development experience over the six decades and achieve new leaps in the future, Yuchai should not only conduct internal publicity, but also hopes media outlets at all levels will pay common attention to the celebration, systematically summarize Yuchai's development experience, achievements and fine corporate culture over the six decades, and display them to the whole country through the media, said Guo, graciously inviting journalists to attend Yuchai's celebration on December 18. During the celebration, Yuchai will deliver thematic events such as the Conference on Celebratory Events of Yuchai's 60th Anniversary, 2011 Yuchai Marketing Conference, 2011 Yuchai Supplier Conference and International Internal Combustion Engine Summit. 　　

STD and Yuchai have maintained longstanding, effective and valuable cooperation. For a long time, STD has paid close attention and proactively covered Yuchai's technical achievements in independent innovation. Jiang Dongzhou, head of Guangxi office of STD and leader of the interview group, said he will lead the group for a survey of the enterprise, hailing the move as part of media efforts to go to the grass-roots level and change styles. At the same time, Jiang presented Yuchai with RMB 68,000 worth of 100 copies of Face to Face with Village Party Secretaries--Interviews with 1,137 Village Party Secretaries, a book on Party building compiled by them. Li received the books on behalf of Yuchai.

During the stay in Yuchai, the more than 30 journalists successively visited Yuchai's showroom, Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited, Yuchai's heavy engine processing line, heavy engine assembling line, micro engine processing line and laboratory, and interviewed grass-roots workers. The profound corporate cultural essence, advanced production technologies and favorable humanistic atmosphere displayed by Yuchai have moved the journalists, said Jiang, adding they have responsibility to cover Yuchai's painstaking efforts over the six decades and tell the country what "Yuchai Spirit" is.
