Yuchai celebrates May Day, rewards high-skill talents with 1 million yuan

On the morning of April 21, Yuchai Group held the Conference on Celebrating May Day and Commending Model Workers at Yuchai Culture Center, rewarding high-skill industrial talents with 1 million yuan. So far, Yuchai has invested 1 million yuan in rewarding high-skill talents every year for three consecutive years.

Corporate leaders, including Yan Ping, Gu Tangsheng, Wu Qiwei and Li Tiansheng, attended the conference. Wu Qiwei, general manager of Yuchai Machinery Co., Ltd. (YM), presided over the conference. Li Tiansheng, deputy Party secretary of Yuchai Group, addressed the conference, extending the greetings of the holiday to all Yuchai's constructors on behalf of the leading body of Yuchai Group, extending warm congratulations and paying high tributes to the advanced collectives and individuals commended.

Yan Ping, chairman of Yuchai Group, delivered an important speech, speaking highly of and showing deep care for Yuchai's industrial workers. He said, an everlasting enterprise must have an outstanding industrial worker team. Yuchai's industrial workers have made remarkable contributions with their diligence and intelligence over the six decades, thus gaining recognition and respect from everyone. Our worker technicians created wealth and miracles in labor. Our top technicians trained one group of worker technicians after another. Yuchai's cause is magnificent, and Yuchai should walk farther and higher. To become a multinational group eventually, Yuchai needs a large number of engineers and outstanding managers, and a multitude of outstanding workers as well. In the future, worker team building should be one of our top strategies. We should further study and improve the team's working and living benefits to equalize high-skill talents with introduced experts in such aspects with housing, pay, outward study and use. "I hope all our workers will display their splendor and quintessence in work and life." Yan's speech aroused thunderous applause.

The conference commended technical achievements of high-skill talents, the third group of top technicians and model entities and golden workers in 2011. Guo Deming, deputy Party secretary of Yuchai Group, read the commendation decision. Corporate leaders, including Yan, Gu, Li and Shen Jie presented awards to the award-winning collectives and individuals. 　

Technical achievements of high-skill talents commended this time include 23 technical achievement projects, five projects of eliminating assembling errors and omissions and seven projects of organization management. "Technology of Rapid Prototyping of Bodies of New Heavy Engines" of the Manufacturing Technology Department, "YC6M Engine Cooling" of the Sales Company and "Reducing the Cost of Metallic Charge of Cylinder Cover" of the Foundry won the first prize for technical achievements; "Increasing the Qualification Rate of F51 Engines" of the Quality Department of YM, "Reducing Rejection Rate through Dongfeng Automatic Line" of the Machining Plant, "Keeping the Comprehensive Rejection Rate of the First Foundry Workshop under 1 Percent" and "Manual Core Modification in New Product Trial-manufacture" of the Foundry, "Trial-Manufacture of Internally-Wooden and Externally-Plastic Composite Die" of the Tools Manufacturing Plant and "Improving Heavy Engine Assembling Equipment to Reduce Failure Rates and Increase Production Efficiency" of Engine Plant 1 won the second prize. 　

The third group of six top technicians commended includes He Xiangjin from Engine Plant 2, Tan Zhu from Machining Plant, Chen Tangbiao from Engine Plant 1, Zhong Qingsi from the Production Department of YM, Ban Huawang from Yuchai Heavy Industry Company Limited (YHI) and Lan Zhencheng from the Foundry.

The nine model entities commended include the integrated technology group of the first workshop of the Foundry, the maintenance group of the modeling section of the body workshop of the Foundry, the first cylinder cover group of Engine Plant 2, the process group of Engine Plant 1, the fourth group of the second section of the body workshop of the Machining Plant, the CAE group of the department of system and parts R & D of the R & D Center, the bucket rod robot group of YHI, the grinding group of the first section of the Tools Manufacturing Plant and the integrated engine inspection management group of the Quality Department of YM.  　　

The 12 golden workers commended include Luo Xuzhou from Engine Plant 2, Gu Lin and Deng Hongkui from the Machining Plant, Chen Junchang and Liang Chunchuan from the Foundry, Liu Ridong from Engine Plant 1, Zhong Yunni from the Tools Manufacturing Plant, Qin Fujiang from the Quality Department of YM, Liang Hua from YHI, Mo Zhiye from the R & D Center, Liang Yong from the Power Company and Qin Daoye from the Manufacturing Technology Department of YM.  　

Yuchai Group has held the conference for three consecutive years, fully showing its great attention to technical worker team building from the strategic level. To motivate high-skill talents to achieve success on their posts and build a talent team with high morality, quality and skills, Yuchai has created a lot of incentive platforms for skill talents, such as top technician selection, selection of chief skill masters, specialized skill masters, golden workers, technical pacesetters and technical masters, and reward for technical achievements of high-skill talents. Over the three years, Yuchai has selected and appointed five chief masters, 10 specialized skill masters, 22 top technicians and 35 golden workers, Yuchai's atmosphere of valuing, respecting and caring skill talents has become increasingly rich, high-skill talents have emerged endlessly and high-skill talents' sense of pride has been enhanced constantly.

This is inseparable from Chairman Yan's care for our technician team. In many other large-sized enterprises, it is difficult for ordinary workers to see top leaders. However, Chairman Yan was different, who was often present in our activities to inspire us greatly. Whenever we listened to his summaries, we would feel surges of emotion and blood. Because worker technicians are Yuchai's treasure in Yan's hearts." 　　

It is always a dream to become a senior technician for Ban Huawang, a welding technician from YHI. "In the eight years at YHI, there would be a stage for me to display my skills no matter how my jobs changed," said him in excitement. 　

Gu Lin, a golden worker from the Machining Plant, excitedly narrated his growth in Yuchai and expressed his feel after winning the award, "This is more an incentive than an honor, which will motivate me to proceed with innovation and contribute to corporate development with concrete performance." 　

High-skill talents have given full play to their demonstrating and leading role in all business fields of Yuchai Group, thus making remarkable contributions to its continuous innovation and development. The project of "Technology of Rapid Prototyping of Bodies of New Heavy Engines" implemented by the technicians of the Manufacturing Technology Department created the country, the industry and Guangxi's first modern high compound technology of digital integration three times faster than normal, which can save die cost by 5 million yuan a year. The project of "Technical Renovation of Processing Center" implemented by the technicians of the Machining Plant accomplished the localization of impellers, guard plates and lead screws of water pumps, reduced spares cost by more than 3 million yuan, and solved the problem of slow application for purchasing imported parts. In 2011, technicians corrected 183 assembling errors and omissions, thus effectively eliminating assembling errors and omissions and accomplishing mass prevention and mass treatment.
