Caterpillar Receives Trade Press Awards

Recently, representatives from Construction Equipment and Roads & Bridges magazines visited Peoria, Ill., to present Caterpillar and Cat product groups with prestigious annual trade press awards.

"In 2012 we greatly expanded our company with a strong focus on quality and our customers, making us stronger than ever. Thank you for providing the opportunity for your readers—our customers—to highlight the products that were chosen as the best in the industry," said Caterpillar Chairman and CEO Doug Oberhelman.

Construction Equipment magazine presented Caterpillar with several "Top 100" awards, given to companies with the most significant new products each year. The award emphasizes innovation and engineering evolution—highlighting manufacturers who invest in research and development resulting in greater productivity, efficiencies and safety and ensuring a competitive marketplace. Editors select the Top 100 award winners using input from readers as well as their own experience with equipment technology and the equipment marketplace.

This year, Caterpillar was recognized for six different products. According to Rick Blesi, publisher of Construction Equipment, "Caterpillar has been recognized with the most awards of any manufacturer."

Products receiving Construction Equipment awards include: 994H, 950K, 924K, 930K, and 938K wheel loaders; series K2 track-type tractors; E series mini excavators; and F series backhoe loaders.

Roads & Bridges presented Caterpillar with the Contractors' Choice Awards—representing the top products as selected by the contractor readership of Roads & Bridges magazine. Roads & Bridges readers are primarily governmental employees and contractors in the highway construction business.

Caterpillar received 19 awards, 16 of which were gold awards.

Products receiving Roads and Bridges awards were: D6T track-type tractor, 320D L excavator, 328D LCR excavator, 140M motor grader, 740 ejector, Accugrade™ GPS & laser, Product Link™ System, 825H soil compactor, H90C concrete breaker, 420E backhoe loader, 308D CR SB mini excavator, 262C skid-steer loader, TH514 telehandler, and 930H wheel loader. Caterpillar Paving Products previously accepted awards for the following: RM500 reclaimer, AP555E small asphalt paver, PM200 milling machine, AP1055D paver, Cat^® Extend-A-Mat 10-20B asphalt screed and CB64 asphalt compactor.
